  1. A lady knocked on my door recently, to sell me a self published book that she'd written. I needed something to read, so I bought one and have just finished reading it. Did anyone else buy one? I am just interested in what you thought of it. It's called Taffy How.
  2. Anyone know if it will be filled today?
  3. Do you have his number SimonM? My windows haven't been cleaned for 3 years :-$

  5. I think someone else had their's done too, further down the road. The whole house stinks of smoke now!:(
  6. Anyone else have there paper recycle bin set on fire last night? I'm on Upland road. Woke up to a fire outside the front door at about 12.30am.
  7. I like kids, I have one, I just don't like them combined with that cafe. Or anything else combined with that cafe for that matter.
  8. I vowed that today would be my last visit to that god awful place! It's SO noisy for a start, everything echos and the Mums in there insist on booming their boring voices for everyone to hear, whilst letting their kids scream the place down. My son NEVER eats the food there, and he loves his food. I enter the cafe feeling fairly relaxed, after an enjoyable play in the park, but I leave feeling so stressed out and ready to scream. No more... that's it! Hurry up peckham rye cafe, there has to be something better!
  9. Does anyone EVER go in this place? How does it stay open? Or is it a front for something else.......;-)
  10. I used to live by the Mind shop on Goose green and I would always see bags dumped outside the shop and left there all weekend to be rifled through and thrown down the street. Dumping your unwanted goods outside a charity shop is fly tipping. Many times I was tempted to pick the bags up and take them home, just to stop the mess, and take the back when the shop opened. But then I probably would have been moaned at by some self-rightous do gooder, so I never had the bottle in the end. It's funny how no one is ever around to complain to the person dumping the stuff in the first place. There's a simple way to stop people rifling through bags. Don't dump them outside, wait for the shop to open!
  11. great idea, thanks lordship_bod. Just thought, they like horse riding I think. Does anyone know if you can just turn up at the riding school by the park, or do you have to book?
  12. re glass bottles. Does anyone remember when you used to get money back if you took the bottles back to the shop? Why oh why did they stop doing that??? Ooooooooooooooooopppppppppps!!!:-$ Sorry Charlie... didn't finish your last thread
  13. I was watching that!! But I missed LL. I was sewing too, so must have been threading a needle or something. Oh well never mind....
  14. I'm planning to let them do their own thing, pretty much, as I need to look after my 3 year old son and work too. I'm sure they don't want some "oldy" hanging around them anyway. ;-) It was more in the evening that I was thinking of... I remember way back.....when I was 17, I was drinking far too much vodka and spending way to much time in places I shouldn't... But they are not like I was, and I'm not sure how they want to entertain themselves. They don't like computer games. I'm at a loss, and I don't fancy sitting in, watching teenage romance dvd's with them every night :-S
  15. Thanks for your reply, All I know is that they want to go shopping in London! that's fine but for 2 weeks??!!
  16. Hello, I am new here. Just wanted to ask some advice. I have my 17 year old cousin and her friend coming form Switzerland, to stay with me next week. Just trying to find some local places that they can go to meet people and have a laugh. They are not drinkers. Any ideas of youth clubs etc? Thanks
