  1. Another recommendation for Dave, who cleared a seriously blocked toilet waste pipe. He was very friendly and helpful with his advice regarding our unsuitable pipework. Very happy to recommend him.
  2. There is a real mixture of uniform choices in pre reception. However for the first half of autumn term you will probably want the summer dress with a cardigan. In winter my daughters always wore the pinafore with a blouse underneath and cardigan. We had a skirt but rarely used it (and you can?t wear it after reception, so a bit of a waste) You will need 1 pair of jogging bottoms plus t-shirt for the day they have PE on (and I?d recommend a spare set for keeping at school) Most people opt for the red t shirt for PE. I?d only get 1 red sweatshirt if you plan on wearing dresses on non PE day. In hot weather navy shorts instead of jogging bottoms. I believe there is a 2nd hand uniform sale at school in the morning (at school drop off time)and think it?s open to all, so you could save a fortune if you went along! They have 2nd hand sales quite regularly so no need to get too much before school starts.
  3. We have recently used Helen at Gardenia Gardens to completely re-plant our garden. She understood the brief and advised us on the plants she thought most suitable to meet this. We went with her suggestions and are very pleased with the results.
  4. Hi Is this evening's meet up in Actress definitely on? I think my Au pair would like to join.
  5. Ours is also wanting to start an English class asap, ideally 2 or 3 hours l, 2 days a week. We are looking at a few we've found on line (Mary Ward Centre in Holborn and The English Practice in Streatham)but would appreciate any recommendations as she would prefer to stay local. Thanks
  6. Our 22 year old Spanish au pair arrived 2 weeks ago and would love to meet others in area. I think drinks would be a great idea
  7. Having searched most of South London for bathroom tiles we used "Style" which has a shop between Tooting and Colliers Wood. Really helpful people and a great selection of tiles http://www.style-ideas.co.uk/ Worlds End Tiles in Battersea is also very good, but expensive
  8. I used Stevie to fix a really bad cut and highlights that I'd had done at a local salon. She did a great job of sorting it out and was very friendly. Her number is 07535 660509
  9. I've had the Navigator 2 (which got stolen from my car), then a Sport (hated it so upgraded after a couple of months)and now a Dot. I would avoid the Sport, either of the others are good but my preference is the Dot, it seems smaller (but still plenty big enough for my 3 year old) You are welcome to come and test drive mine Emma
  10. I had an amazing pregnancy facial at Dr Boo. I think they do massage too.
  11. We also used Dennis and his team to line our chimney and install a stove. We bought a stove based on the advice Dennis gave to us and are so pleased with it. Dennis and his guys did a great job, working around a problem we encountered with my chimney and and they were really nice to deal with.
  12. I also agree with Bellenden Belle, we were very disappointed with the Whippersnappers experience this weekend. Will definitely look at Morden hall park next year, it sounds much better!
  13. I am also happy to recommend Fernando who came today and did a great job tidying my garden. He was punctual, polite and hard working. I would definitely use him again.
  14. We just used Bromley and Ellis in Herne Hill. They were very helpful.
  15. We have a special shoulder ice pack/sling that you can borrow if you would like.
  16. Hi, yes my husband broke his arm at the shoulder snowboarding back in January. It was a very nasty break that was operated on in France and then again in London when he got home. He can recommend a good surgeon.
  17. I would definitely not recommend Danny or Daniel. This appears to be the same company as Dulwich plumbing and heating, (the mobile number is the same). We called him out over the new year as our heating was not working. He sent a guy over promptly but he clearly had no idea what he was doing, took various bits off our boiler and then left saying we needed to buy some expensive parts and probably had a leak. We duly bought the parts, but not trusting Daniel's employee, employed another company despite already having paid Daniel for the job. They fixed the problem with no need for parts and had no idea why Daniels guy had removed and not replaced the parts that he did. We discussed this with Daniel and he kindly agreed to reimburse us. Unfortunately, despite promising us on three separate occasions, has still not returned our money or our messages. His excuses ranged from being on holiday, lost phone, short of money etc etc.
  18. Thanks Bonfire2010, I will definitely look into that.
  19. Does anyone know of any mum and baby pilates classes, ideally for post c-section, on either a Tuesday or Thursday? I did the Jelly-belly course after my first child and would love to do it again, but I don't think they have a class on these days (when my eldest will be in nursery)
  20. Great. Just look out for some huge bumps and some new borns.
  21. Hi Katie Some of us are meeting at the Duck Egg cafe today at 2.30, you are welcome to join us. Emma
  22. Daniel, we have texted you again and like every other time we notice that you haven't responded or reimbursed us like you promised. I look forward to hearing from you.......
  23. We did not have a positive experience using Daniel and he still owes us money that he had agreed to refund.
  24. Unfortunately I cannot agree with the above recommendations. We called Daniel on New Year's Eve as our boiler was not working. He sent someone to take a look at it later that day and the guy told us that we needed to buy a new part for it so it couldn't be fixed there and then. That meant several days over the new year period without heating. Daniel contacted us later that day to ask us to pay him for the call out. We were a little annoyed by this as the boiler had not been fixed, however we paid the same day on the good faith that the diagnosis was correct and we would get it fixed as soon as the part arrived. On receiving the part we decided to ask another company to come and install it, as we hadn't been totally convinced by the original guy that Daniel sent. The next company that we used arrived and advised us that Daniel's guy had removed our supposedly broken part, but that there was nothing wrong with it. No need for me to have purchased the new part. They then diagnosed the need for a different new part, but were able to put a temporary fix on the boiler so that we had heating again (this could have been done on New Year's Eve). They then returned a few dyas later and installed the new correct part. We contacted Daniel to let him know what had happened and he agreed to refund us the call out charge. This was 6 weeks ago. Since then we have spoken to him a couple of times and have exchanged several text messages. Until recentlty there has always been an excuse (away on holiday, broken phone, lost our details, sick and not working so no money), however having last weekend promised to pay us by last Wednesday, we have still not received the money and he is now ignoring our text messages.
