  1. I live on the Lytcott Grove Estate & Robin has always been polite & helpful. She has offered her assistance on more than one occasion & fought for funding for my security doors due to anti social behaviour. I for one think the railings around the orchard are a great idea...living here I see on a daily basis inconsiderate residents allowing their dogs to crap all over the orchard.
  2. Hi, can anyone recommend a cake maker other than Ayres & the Cake Store? Also, preferably one that doesn't use rubbish roll out icing? Thanks Ashley
  3. My parents live on Anstey Road and it is used as a rat run but only during rush hour...during the day it's lovely & peaceful. Plus the people on the road are lovely - the jubilee party in June was fantastic!!!
  4. The reason this thread has turned into name calling and ranting is because of Tiger Ranks comment - "who would think that of the new dulwich what will all the POSH TOFFS THINK". What s/he has written is true and obviously the 'posh toffs' have taken offence. I have lived in East Dulwich for 32 years and believe me it's certainly the people that make it a pompus place to live. I recently found out that Lordship Lane is now known as 'The Lane' and if you live on Melbourne Grove you are known as referrred to as a 'Melbourne Grover' WTF. No matter where you live there are criminal offences taking place East Duwlich, Peckham, Kensignton & Chelsea everywhere!!! I for one cannot wait to move out of East Dulwich - it has changed for the worse.
  5. LOL - the posts made by *Bob* and DJKillaQueen just prove katurner right - you think your better than others by spouting what ONO represents... Near or nearest - ?100 below the asking price isn't a reasonable offer.
  6. *Bob* it seems you have misunderstood the concept of ONO - ?100 less than the asking price is far from a ONO.
  7. Firstly, to be fair I must say I agree with 'katurner' - everytime I try to sell something on the forum people have tried to barter me down to stupid prices. If I'm not prepared to offer a reasonable "or near offer" then I wouldn't bother - if the shoe was on the other foot what would you class as ONO? Secondly, I totally agree with the Waitrose comment!!! Sometimes I sit and read the threads on this site just for the laughs - who cares if Lordship Lane has a Waitrose or an Iceland? Whatever there is the residents won't be happy. For instance - people have mentioned that we need more places to cross on LL - now that we have crossings being put in place people are moaning!!! People are moaning on here about a stupid Papa John's advertising board outside the shop...seriously people WHO CARES! I say well done katurner for speaking up - your right East Dulwich is full of snobs "I was referred to the other day as a Melbourne Grover" - WTF...!!!
  8. I think it's a really good idea to invite husbands/partners to one of the meet-ups. Jenny - hope you are feeling better soon, best wishes for the weeks ahead. Ashley x
  9. First baby - due 24 April, gender not known. The Vale is always quiet, maybe that could be an option for the 1 Feb. Ashley x
  10. There is a running club just be JAGS Girls School.
  11. Hi to all the "mum's to be"...there seems to be lots of us! I am definitely up for meeting you all on the 1 Feb - not sure who is the main organiser but please add me to the list (clio0731 - Ashley). Ashley
  12. Grow up! People like you make me sick - I think maybe a petition should be started to get snobs like you out of East Dulwich, I for one would be the first one to sign it!
  13. I personally have no problem with parents taking their babies/toddlers/young children into a pub - but what does irritate me is the minority of parents that completely forget their children are with them and let them run wild...!!! Yes, pubs on LL do cater for for famiiles but at the end of the day a pub is a place for adults NOT children. If you take your children into pubs then you need to be prepared to 1) look after them 2) keep them under some sort of control and 3) be prepared for your children to potentially be hurt (i.e. knocked down) by a drunken so and so who's had too much to drink.
  14. What a stupid comment. Surely the most important thing is that out local area is being ripped apart!!! Who cares about a stupid Waitrose store - complete snobbery!!!
