  1. Hi, I'm looking for someone to do some odd jobs round my flat - touching up some paint, replacing some tiles, that sort of thing. Thanks in advance for any leads! Michelle
  2. Trips out, people to come and talk to the kids (fire brigade etc).
  3. If you go in the smaller gates you can take a scooter in. We did, anyway.
  4. My son had a tongue tie, which wasn't diagnosed til 10 weeks and not sorted for another month, by which time breast feeding just wasn't going to happen. I commented in hospital, when he was having difficulty latching on, that it might be worth checking for TT. I was ignored. I had pretty bad PND and was very upset by what I saw and felt as my failure to breastfeed. So much heartache could be spared for women beating themselves up over these issues if tongue tie checks were automatic.
  5. Took my baby home in a cab in a sling. Kings were a bit weird about it initially, until I pointed out that I could always walk. Then they said it was up to me.
  6. I keep meaning to join you - next time - but have seen 12 Years A Slave. The Sunday night screening was sold out so would recommend buying tickets in advance.
  7. He's an only Otta, yes. I took him with me to look round the school; he marched into the nursery and refused to leave. After the tour I returned to find him sitting with the other children enjoying a banana!
  8. I went to look at a school this morning and was reassured by the reception set up which really didn't look much different to nursery with kids hurling in and out and playing with mud etc. Also talked to the staff about how they work with the younger ones, so feeling much more relaxed.
  9. Just went on the site Shinta but couldn't see where the new sessions will be taking place. My DS had a German nanny and can speak some German so this would be of interest to us, but it sort of depends where the classes will be. He is three, is he too old?
  10. Kiss Me! and also Toddler Calm, who also run courses.
  11. Cheap alternative to the Sanctuary. http://www.spa-london.org/ironmonger-row-baths/ I went with my mum before the refurbishment, it was a bit scruffy, but now looks very sleek. You can use the hammam and plunge pool then lie on a day bed and read a book and even have a little nap, all for ?25 for three hours. If you go to a woman-only session its lovely, totally relaxing.
  12. Thanks very much! Going on the first school visit this Thursday - eek!
  13. I loved mine. We used to use them as ponies. I remember setting up jumps in the garden and having show jumping contests. They can always be deflated if not used.
  14. Dear forumites, My DS will be 4 in July next year, which I feel is a bit young to start school full time in September, so am thinking of sending him part time and keeping him at nursery part time, and gradually increasing the school and reducing the nursery hours. Has anyone else done this? Would love to hear from you?! Thanks, M
