  1. Does anyone know if fines apply if you drive down Court Lane to use the park? Ie not looking for a route through the Village.
  2. Another vote for the sticky pheromone traps. Also remember to not leave windows open and lights on. You'll come back to find loads of moths flocking to the light.

Do you need planning permission for a treehouse? Is that why your neighbour's complaint prevented the build?
  4. Sue, who is local, is amazing. 07538 719926
  5. We have something similar to this that my mum bought for my kids. https://www.scandiborn.co.uk/products/play-go-toy-bag-classic-black?variant=35977067722&gclid=CjwKCAiAodTfBRBEEiwAa1haukf_4oYQ5KYNyE9VI261tCz64axzcz6AwU2lpQs7G-tx0Mndbq_prxoCjNwQAvD_BwE It's good because we encourage them to play with the lego on the play mat then you simply use the drawstring sides to tidy up and slide into a sturdy sided toy box. We also use low flat plastic boxes to pack away under beds and sofas. I wish I was more organised and kept the mechanical pieces separate but all we've managed is to put the lego people into a separate bag.
  6. I?m trying to work out a solution so that kids (aged 6 and 8) can use our family Spotify membership to listen to their own music through an mp3 device but I don?t want them to use the device for games or the internet. Any ideas? I thought I could perhaps use an old iphone but apple sign ins mean, I think, all my photos etc will be loaded onto the phone.
  7. We used Mad Science a few years ago and a guy came to do a show, lots of cool things for a 7 year old's party. They all made slime at the end to take home. Was really good, highly recommend! www.madscienceeast.co.uk
  8. Yes, they are whingey and clingy even now! Could be teething?
  9. You'll become more confident as he grows. I remember having a meltdown one day on LL when I couldn't find a comfortable place to breastfeed. It was all brand new and daunting but just remember all other parents with older children have been there before so are not judging you. If anyone does, and it does happen, don't let it get you down. You're doing your best. I found it incredibly helpful chatting to mums with similar age kids to mine at that young age. Shoe shops: Emmanuelle Marshall ? Dorothy who owns this independent shop is really lovely and knowledgeable and has lots of nice brands to choose from.
  10. Funnily enough, it's better to go when they aren't walking. However, Majorca isn't very far and going in September is good to avoid school holiday price hikes. Still should be warm too. Holidays are very different post-kids but I generally find the Spanish, Greeks and Italians are very welcoming to young children so you can take them out to restaurants in the evening. Don't worry if he cries ? they don't seem to mind. Be careful about booking apartments with unsafe balconies, also pools tend to be unfenced on the Continent. I think as long as you feel confident transferring his routine to a holiday place, the holiday will be more about you and your partner than your baby. My kids are 8 and 6 and we find holidays abroad are just about trying to squeeze in a bit of culture, rest and eating out in between the constant demands for ice creams and beach/pool visits!
  11. I've seen people begging with open wounds in London Bridge too. Things have clearly moved on a lot ? I remember about 6 years ago in Brockley a well-spoken man, dressed nicely, asked me for money to get back to Tunbridge Wells as he said he'd lost his phone the night before. Originally asked for ?2 and as I opened my purse, complained he didn't know how long it would take to get all the money for the ticket home. I stupidly gave him ?10. I was sleep-deprived and carrying a 1 year old so that's my excuse. Saw him 10 minutes later going into a flat nearby ? seemed to remember where his friends lived suddenly!

  13. We had this problem and found Fairy non-bio to be very good. I think if you always wash everything on 30C it?s worth doing regular service washes and towels/sheets on 60C as if you don?t the bacteria in your machine builds up and transfers on to your clothes. Really disgusting when you think about it. Also don?t use any bubble bath or scented soaps. We use Moo Goo skincare and it?s been great. Aveeno is a good moisturiser. I also tend to not bathe them every day unless they are really grubby.

We are having a surveyor in to assess the pre-work condition of ours and our neighbour's but just wondered if anyone had had this done already and had knowledge of what it looks like. Will obviously speak to builder about the details as he will be one who does it.
