  1. Yes there have been several libel cases Sean which is why people should keep an open mind and remember that old adage 'innocent until proven guilty'....and that's proven beyond reasonable doubt.
  2. To be fair it wasn't quite the mindless act you describe. The villa was in clear sight of the Tapas place and the parents collectively checked on them periodically. Yes I agree leaving children that young unsupervised is wreckless but all the parents clearly thought their children were safe (albiet wrongly so). Intent is a very important consideration. Certainly the evidence presented by the Inspector you refer to seems compelling but there are very good reasons why there has been no arrest or prosecution of the McCanns. The DNA evidence isn't conclusive. Also given that both the McCanns are Doctors, Cavadar is something they'll regularly come into contact with. I simply don't accept that any parent finding their child injured, or dead, would do anything but call an ambulance (especially two parents who are doctors - even though they'd have known full well if the child was dead). Even if Madeleine died in the apartment after an accident, there is no evidence to say that the McCanns were involved in any kind of cover up. The Hire Car was after all a hire car and explains why the DNA evidence taken from it was so low and contained multiple markers. It reminds me of the countless theories around the death of JFK when all along it was one man who pulled thrigger that day, and one man only. Lot's of factors that can be put together in any number of ways. I think the McCanns are suffering enough for having lost their child (esp if the truth is that she died from an accident - and they have to live with that forever). It will make no difference to Madeleine if she is dead, whatever the truth is. One thing is certain though. The McCanns didn't leave their children in that apartment intending to see one of them die that night. Pursuing some vain hope of convicting them and putting yet two more children at the mercy of the care system seems pointless to me.
  3. And spend money on a good quality D Lock (squire UBX or trelock Titan) and expect to pay at least ?60 for it. No other types of lock are unbreakable or uncuttable. And cheap D locks with circular keys are easily broken.
  4. The Rye where we ate on Wednesday only has two but if you look at how the score is worked out, a large part of it has nothing to do with actual hygiene and more with management.
  5. It'a tomorrow that we are really going to get it.
  6. Well I just won $33 winning a single table sng (pokerstars) nah nah nah :))
  7. All of these theories are just that, backed up by no conclusive evidence. Let's not forget, two parents have lost a child and until hard evidence proves they were somehow involved I think it s a bit unfair to make any judgements.
  8. I DJ New Year's Eve and last year I played Boney M 'Auld Lang Syne' followed by Scissor Sistors 'Don't Feel Like Dancing'.......did the trick.
  9. It says 'Hello East Dulwich' :)
  10. Just add, Bucks 'new' University do a three year degree course in Airline and Airport Management. So every year they churn out say 30??? graduates with the know how on how to manage an airport. And we have how many airports? Who in their right mind would spend 30K on doing a degree like that?
  11. The one thing that no one has pointed out is that there has never been free-for-all higher education. When I got a grant and all my fees paid it was beause my parents income was means teated. Those with parents earning over a certain amount didn't get grants. And only certain degree courses at certain polytechnics and universities qualified for that financial help. The first move towards paying for tuition fees effectively took away free education for the poorest students but didn't change much else. America has had a fee paying system fof a long time and as a result has a two tier HE system. Why we can't return to system of BTECs, HNDs and fewer students actually needing to spend four years on a degree course is beyond me. It is one aspect for which I am very critical of New Labour....the leveling out of educational qualifications in the mythical belief that all children are the same and one size fits all. The result has been a dumbing down of the state education system and the processes by which qualifications are attained, whilst the public school system continues via traditional methods to churn out pupils that will go to the better universities and do better in life as a result (generally speaking of course).
  12. I think it's always better to offer help and find that a person doesn't want or need it than to walk by and do nothing.
  13. Just put a bag over his head.
  14. Of course the original......but yes not scary. When I was a kid I was spooked by movies like 'Them' and 'Village of the Damned' and even some of the Doctor Who creatures.....but I think it's harder to genuinely scare adults.
  15. :)) I probably wouldn't be single if it was....
  16. 'Dawn of the Dead' stands out as a masterpiece in that list.
  17. LOL......funnily enough stats on a Panaroma programme claimed that those that illegally download also buy the most CDs and that many of them are buying 20% more CDs than before which kind of blows the myth that piracy is killing music. What piracy has done has stopped us being charged twice as much for CDs as our American counterparts, and frankly being ripped off. It has also broken some of the monopoly of the big publishers in deciding who gets to sell records and who doesn't. Bands that never would have got a look in can now sell records to a public who would never have heard their music had it not been for the internet and piracy. Totally off topic I know but kind of explains why the biggies have gone back to touring as a major source of profit. The 02 though are just rip off merchants. The promoters sell tickets to them at reasonable face value but the 02 won't let the public by direct from them at face value for many events. Instead you have to buy from 02's own ticket agency which on average increases the ticket price by 200%, to line their own coffers. Legislation is needed to deal with what is just a legalised from of touting by some venues.
  18. 'Creep' could have been a great movie but as said, once the monster was revealed it lost any credibility. 'The Descent' I thought was clever. I could totally buy the idea that an unmapped cave existed and remained unmapped because anyone that went there never got out alive. Made sense as a premise.
  19. And what about 'Cloverfield'? Great movie...technically horror but not scary.
  20. I agree Sean...pehaps the muller factor would be more appropriate. Elton week was a real case in point. Don't know anything about flowers though, apart from the hothouse kind. Again something perhaps Elton could help with!
  21. Good work dawg. It might just save someone from being burgled two weeks before Christmas. (tu)
  22. I'm having slow connection and time out problems today too with the EDF site.
  23. I'm having slow connection and time out problems today too.
  24. Reminds me of an incident when I was a child. I woke up to see a hand in out letterbox trying to hook wire over the lock (to open it). I got my dad up and when he went to the door it was the same story...someone claiming to be looking for someone. This guy had his hand in your letter box because he was trying to break in or to steal...report it to the Police with a description.
