Hello all, I have been offered the opportunity to take over the running of a small family business providing soft play / play equipment hire for young children. The equipment would be hired to keep children entertained at events such as children's birthday parties, weddings, family events etc. Included in the hire package would be a range of soft play shapes, rockers, ride-ons etc. all suitable of under 5's and would be available for hire either at home (inside or in the garden), or at venues/hall.... I'm looking into the practicalities, but before I commit myself, I wanted some feedback from parents - would there be any interest in this sort of thing locally? I am not sure if it current success is due to the area it is located in and what is available locally for parents/children up there. Any comments & feedback would be welcome Thanks Charlee

You could try the Honor Oak Community Centre. It?s not too far from Ivydale Road and has a large hall and kitchen as well as a smaller room/cr?che space (nice for younger children? parties) and a garden. From what I can remember the price is around ?25.

Good afternoon all, I have been tasked with making two cakes for my Godchildren this weekend, and wondered if anyone had had a set of alphabet letter cutters that I could borrow for a few days (such as the those attached)? I have tried cutting the letters freehand and let?s just say it has been a COMPLETE disaster and time is running out. I am hoping someone on the EDF will come to my rescue! Many thanks Charlee

Thank you so much for your feedback. After 100+ views and no comments I was beginning to think may be this was a terrible idea. Saffron, I completely agree with you about including other areas. I thought I would focus on forum users first as my test market - although I know many are not based in Dulwich. I would say most parties happen between 12-4pm on a Saturday, so I would think I could possibly do approx 3 parties maybe 4 at a push each Saturday?? You all raised very helpful and valued points regarding costs, logistic as well as licensing issues, and this has given me much food for thought. Time to do a bit of research I think. Fingers crossed, in the not too distant future I will be on the forum posting a new party service! Thanks again for your thoughts:))
