  1. I had a similar experience at Bromley station when I asked a member of staff to help me up the stairs with the buggy and they declined claiming they were 'not insured for lifting'. Honestly where is COMMON SENSE???!!!!
  2. I have a 7 month old, and my school teacher mum insists I need to look at nurserys NOW to get him a place at 2 years old (i'm sure she is right but I find this quite mind boggling). I'd quite like a short list of 3 or 4 to look around - any recommendations appreciated. East Dulwich/Herne Hill/West Dulwich/Dulwich Village areas best for us...
  3. snapfish is really easy and i think that if you send the link to selected friends they can then order prints themselves direct
  4. Thanks everyone that is soooo useful. I will plough on with the water then although he cunningly seems to dribble most of it down his front to avoid drinking it, little tyke!
  5. Can anyone give me advice?! should I be giving my 6.5 month old baby water when he has his solids? I am currently giving him a solid 'meal' twice a day and he refuses water and still wants milk with the food. But my mother in law INSISTS that he'll get dehydrated if I don't give him water with solids (she looked very smug as if 'point proven' when his poo got very hard, suggesting he had constipation due to lack of water). However my HV seemed to imply still giving milk as it makes up most of his calories at this age. Any advice gratefully received....am happy to give him water but he doesn't like it and I don't know how important it is!!!
  6. Thanks that's really useful x
  7. Yes I'd defo be interested!! And agree on day time to do it, makes sense to me too....
  8. Hi Ruth - am sure you have looked into this already but have you asked your GP about cognitive behavioural therapy? It really helped my PND, I was diagnosed 4 months ago and am pretty much fully recovered now. Anti depressants also helped me but I don't think I would have recovered properly without the CBT. I have heard CBT is quite hard to get as its very popular but maybe speaking to your health visitor or GP would give them the nudge for a referral?? I too had very very horrible 'flash backs' of a long and difficult birth, the CBT helped that as the therapist usually offers trauma therapy. I know exactly how you feel as I would often be gagging for sleep but would find that all I could think about was the labour - horrible horrible, but I promise you it fades in time.
  9. I have a 5 month old baby and bought a Mamas & Papas Nipi: http://www.mamasandpapas.com/range/nipi/2411/ I did alot of research and this buggy scored one of the highest in its class for Which? - I think even better than McLaren. It hasn't let me down at all and I would say its probably the best bargain I've bought since giving birth as its currently reduced to ?49. You do need to get the accesory pack as well as that contains a rain cover but its only ?15. The buggy lies almost flat so I think you can use it for 3 months +. I also have a bugaboo and never use it now as I am constantly on and off buses and the Nipi is so easy and light in comparison. Highly recommended - hope that helps!!
  10. Has anyone had a young baby who has had the swine flu jab? My baby is approaching 6 months old and not sure whether to get it done, the GP seemed vague about whether it is needed or not but I know it can be done from 6 months old. Any experience of this jab in young babies appreciated...
