  1. Just did a quick search and found St Mungos in SE London. I can call tomorrow to enquire, let me know... http://www.mungos.org/press_office/631_residents-pets-at-st-mungo-s-hostel-the-stars-of-the-show
  2. We're just off north cross. This was a slim chap, almost bald, glasses, adt uniform etc... With a sidekick who he introduced as a trainee. He seemed professional but as soon as I'd checked out their id and took a photo of it ("oh you used to be a copper?" Was the remark from the skinny one.... Then I thought I a) can't be arsed with their fear mongering chat b) I need my dinner and then showed them out. After I closed the door I had a word with myself for letting them in! You just don't know all the time and I'll call ADT tomorrow and confirm these guys details. Seems from Foxy's link that they do actually do door to door sales time from time.... But yep, you never know....
  3. Thanks Sue, Foxy. Got his id pass on a photo and also his mobile, but one of those things 5 mins in when I just felt slightly uncomfortable.....
  4. What's that all about? I checked their id, let them in, thought again and kicked them out. Am I totally stupid?
  5. Yes! Angel upholstery. She was fab - big range of fabrics and made quickly and at a great price. It's great - I love having a little extra spot for a coffee and a comfy seat.
  6. We recently had our garden revamped courtesy of Al, Vavabloom Gardens. Super competitive quote, stuck to budget, pleasure to have around and super tidy which was ace, given we live in a terrace and access to the garden is thru the house. Our garden was a bit of a dumping ground and unloved after having work done on the house.... We've now got a garden we'll want to spend time in come the warmer weather. Fencing is especially great because it gives us a little more privacy. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. His email is: [email protected]
  7. I love Anya for their facials. Extraction especially. And they have samples so you really can give stuff a try before purchasing. Arfur.
  8. Hello, it's one of those things I've meant to get sorted but been putting off... But I'm not getting any younger and would welcome recommendations for an IFA. Doesn't necessarily have to be local, but someone who felt talked thru' options and was able to explain and provide guidance. Cheers Arfur.
  9. Hi - we had two made of similar size for ?2k which included priming and painting. MDf though, add wood and you can add some ks.... Made onsite in a spare room or outside in garden.
  10. Pauline at Kuki Hair (peckham rye) sorted out my curly barnet at a very reasonable price if i do say so myself. She's also gt curly hair. Don't trust those straight haired hairdressers .... Takes one to know one innit.
  11. We've used Streatham High Rd Emergency Vets a few times - they will find a time to fit you in and the vets I've seen have been pleasant, caring and followed up timely with the regular vet we use.
  12. We've recently had our hallway, and two bedrooms sanded and varnished by Steve and Nicola from Back to Wood, and frankly i'm still quite shocked at how well the floorboards came up.... particularly as we took up the carpets we discovered a rather horrendous paint job underneath! I tried to upload some before and after pics - but couldn't due to the image size restrictions on the EDF.... B2W turned our ancient, murky, decrepit, paint stained and cracked floorboards into beautiful warm toned boards which look brand new (although preserving the vintage of the wood). We live in a rather small terrace and it's really maximised the space of the rooms. I have no hesitation in recommending Back to Wood's service. Both Nicola and Steve are friendly and professional and the fact they've been restoring floorboards in the local area for over 16 years is testament to the service they provide. BB Gun

I wanted to alert pet owners in the Archdale / Nutfield road area that our cat was shot on the head, with a BB gun, narrowly missing ear / eyes. The cat is ok but I cannot express my anger at someone's deliberate actions to maim/kill/injure an animal. Any parents who purchased a BB gun for their kids, or if the person who has done this reads this thread please be assured I've taken this matter extremely seriously and have reported this to the police.
  14. ..... Hopefully now we should see a less smug look on his annoying face. Anyway he fundamentally screwed up on the take over of ABN - significantly poor due diligence - he wasn't interested in doing the right thing for his shareholders or staff - it was all greed / ego related.
  15. Hello, this is a bit of a plea to anyone who may have an emergency number for runcent joinery on north x rd - we've emailed and tried their landline many times and suspect they are closed this week. Anyone with a mobile number or alternative land line number please pm me or text me (07810488355) - I suspect our missing cat is stuck in there! Jen
  16. Agree with all the comments - had my barnet cut yesterday by Pauline and she did a great job and was delightful to chat too. Great to have a local hairdresser without inflated prices and egos to match!
  17. I visited the other weekend to get my paws er feet pedicures and two weeks on they're still lookin good. Very pleasant and efficient - for ?20 is really is good value for money when compared with the other options. Arthur.
  18. Or is my neighbour incorrect? Our elderly neighbour mentioned this morning that there had been a few break-ins on Nutfield in the last few days - does anyone know if this is correct? He may have been blethering and not factually correct, so would appreciate any one in the know, letting me know! cheers Arfur.
