  1. While helping Jennifer with her missing cat, I came across this report of a black/white kitten with a blue diamond collar & bell that was found in Dulwich: http://www.nationalpetregister.org/fp/632.htm (picture included) Must belong to someone. Be nice to reunite it with its family.
  2. Hi Jen, Just thinking about a couple of the places I contacted when my cat went MIA. I would check with Battersea to see if they've had any recent arrivals (same cat ended up there once, too!). Also there's the Missing Pets Bureau (www.missingpetsbureau.com), where you can post details and a pic of your cat. There's a few others too (http://www.nationalpetregister.org; http://www.radiorewind.co.uk/lost_cat_page.htm). One other thing you might want to try is to give a picture of your cat to the local dustmen and milkmen. As they're around at the crack of dawn, they may come across him. I was surprised how friendly and keen to help these guys were. There's a very reassuring website I just came across which hopefully will help and put your mind at rest - http://www.soyouhavelostyourcat.co.uk. Do please let us know when you find him.
  3. Hi Jen, When our cat went missing, it turned out he'd snuck into a nearby house that was empty through the cat-flap and couldn't get out again. There's a very good chance this is what happened to your cat. Might be worth asking whichever estate agents operate in your area if they would mind keeping an eye out for him in any vacant properties they do viewings at. Also worth letting the local vets have the details. Has your cat been chipped?

A useful shortcut when it was open. I remember the old woman who used to go to every Hamlet game in the 70s and 80s. She had one of those old-fashioned wooden rattles that she'd swing around constantly, croaking, "C'mon Dulwich", regardless of the score. It's a shame the old Hamlet terrace song seems to have died - well, I've never heard it sung whenever I've been.
  5. We saw QT at the Ritzy - he was there for a preview of Death Proof. God, that film sucked, but he was entertaining enough.
  6. Having lived around ED my whole life, it's amazing how much the area has changed. Some former shops and buildings are indelibly etched in my mind - the joke shop on the corner of Northcross Rd and Ulverscroft; the Co-Op, opposite where Iceland is now; the Mother & Son bakery on the corner of Northcross Rd and Fellbrigg Rd; the record shop that used to be next to the EDT; all the shops that used to exist down Upland Rd (the bike shop, Aneloys, Ken's newsagents, the second-hand TV shop, the parafin shop on the corner...) Anyone remember the dodgy jeans shop on the corner of Whately Rd and Fellbrigg? Or the Odeon that used to be in Goose Green? Or the ridiculously long, thin chips you used to get in Golden City opposite the police stn? How different the local boozers like the EDT, the Magdala, the Palmerston used to be? Or the various incarnations the Uplands has gone thru? Anyone remember Toby the local stray, who used to hang around outside Joe the Butchers in NorthX Rd? The mad tin foil woman? The two drunks who used to loiter outside the Irish club on a Friday night shouting abuse at people waiting at the bus stop? The bloke who used to fall asleep outside the betting office in C.P Road? Ah, memories... Anyone care to add theirs?
  7. No, it wasn't the HobGob. I think it was around Sydenham Hill way. I do remember the pub had a car park, if that helps...
  8. There used to be a heavy metal club (actually, just a room above a pub) somewhere around Sydenham or Crystal Palace that I went to a couple of times in the early 90's. Anyone know the place I mean? Is it still there?
