I'd agree with earlier posters that northbound Thameslink trains from Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill are now more crowded (and more delayed) in the mornings than before. Longer term, it would be a big improvement if the line could be operated much more like the Overground: 4 trains an hour, at the same time each hour, for most of the day throughout weekdays and weekends, going through at least to Kings Cross St Pancras. As things stand, I think longer distance semi-fast trains eg Cambridge to Caterham or similar will be prioritised over inner London services.

At least as significant seems to be that during the evening peak - from 1600-1900 - the number of trains from London Bridge to Peckham Rye / East Dulwich has been reduced to 4 per hour from 6 per hour. The remaining ones are not spaced evenly either, with 20 minute gaps between some trains. Another thanks to Niko, who I used before earlier this year, and came up trumps again in locating and fitting a hard-to-identify thermostatic valve for a shower.

I'd also recommend Niko and use him again - good job and fair price for fixing a broken toilet cistern.

Trains from ED to London Bridge are fairly reliable and frequent. Whether you get a seat depends on when you travel - between 8 am and 9 am you probably won't, unless perhaps you go right to the back of the train (and are happy to be at the back of the queue to go through the ticket barriers at London Bridge). Seats in the evening, from London Bridge, usually aren't a problem, and the trains, even if you're standing, are rarely as crowded as tubes at the same time. For Shoreditch, you may be better getting the East London Line overground from Forest Hill, but it could depend on where you're starting from in East Dulwich. Getting on to the Northern Line at London Bridge isn't fun in rush hour. For Charing Cross, you can cross platforms at London Bridge and get one of the very frequent trains that go through and on to Charing Cross.
