  1. Hi, there is the Honor Oak Baptist Church nearby that may have availability https://www.hobc.org.uk/hall-lets/

  4. 8 double sockets, 2 fuse sockets, a light switch, a dimmer switch and cooker switch all up for grabs. PM me for collection
  5. I've never tried vegan black pudding.. i'll have to seek that out! I ended up making it myself, a recipe from bbc good food. It took 2 hours in total, but was pretty good. I used to eat it years ago, when I was non veggie. It's a bit earthy for my liking.
  6. Same, lots of the meat version, but veggie is elusive. I've found a decent looking recipe. Cooking is not my forte, but best endeavours count.
  7. I tried them both last week & yesterday. It is like looking for one on the moors.
  8. Is anyone aware of anywhere selling vegetarian haggis? I've been looking for weeks & even tried online, but none available 🙄
  9. The seems on my gym leggings need refreshing i.e. stretch stitch, are there any places that can do this? I just visited the alterations on Forest Hill Road and they don't have the machine for this.
  10. Georgian wines are crazy cheap. At least in Georgia they are, and very tasty. You would expect nothing more from the first wine makers.
  11. I'm still trying to figure out what the upside down blue triangle is with white lines coming out of the top? It's been there the last few years & I have no idea. Answers on a postcard...
  12. There is the remainder of the Rye that is still open and the rest of the park, so as far as open spaces go there is no lack of it. Maybe it is a profit making venture for the council but Gala don't have to raise money for charity, we don't get the same offers from the circus or the fare.
  13. I'm not questioning your point on privitasation of public spaces but I am very local (2 streets away). I go most years & tend to see lots of people from the neighbourhood, there are also people that come from all over the UK and not just young. It is a very diverse and inclusive festival who also raise funds for local charities and on one of the days support local bands.
  14. I hear you Malumbu. I was driving along Brenchley yesterday, some idiot driver coming in the other direction was trying to overtake cyclists even though my side of the road wasn't clear. I don't think narrowed roads has improved the safety issue.
  15. Of course you would have to pay for a skip. You don't own it, it is a service being offered to you. Same as a secure bike hangar, but I can park my bike for free on a bike loop. People who own cars pay road tax, its the local level where the money gets spent on road surface repairs on country and urban roads. Similarly, it also contributes to the building of new roads, but also larger urban projects that benefit road users, like car parks and restructuring city roads. The fact the money gets swallowed up by other budgets is not the road users issue. It is to be argued by the council.
  16. Kwikfit for me. They have a range of options. It is cheaper to buy your tyre online and book in the replacement.
  17. We used https://www.penniblack.co.uk/ for a recent party, they also help serve drinks and canapes. We also hired https://www.threepiecebar.co.uk/ they bring their own mobile bar and name your own cocktail list.
  18. I don't mind wagas, it's the endless pizza joints & nail bars taking over.
  19. I find it hilarious that people accept Gails, but when Pret were opening there was a bit of a drama around it saying we should support our locals...
  20. What a waste of money, employing someone who sits in their van (probably in the ticket zone) when they could just install cameras....
  21. https://www.timeout.com/london/city-life/whats-with-the-click-clacking-lime-bikes-all-over-london-right-now This might be the reason so many of them are poorly parked. If it is so easy to tamper & use the bikes for free then they probably don't care where they leave them also. There is no penalty if they users are undetectable.
  22. Pro Beauty on Hindmans Road. They always provide good advice and have a lovely manner. https://www.probeautyclinic.co.uk/
  23. I left those questions blank & each time there was a comment box in any of the sections, I said that we have ample space for parking in out street. Sort out the transport infrastructure to go further than the borough ex central london and you may have a case.
  24. It doesn't matter whether it's cyclist or driver. Your either a can or a can't & the person cycling on the pavement was definitely a can't, entitled with no regard for others. They don't just walk amongst us these days, they also drive & cycle 🙄
  25. It's ok to not agree with things, but there's a difference between still treating others with respect and being vengeful towards those you don't agree with. Turning point are bullies, they are trying to impose their hateful values on to others. I'm pretty sure the drag story time doesn't affect them in any form. If you don't like it simply don't go along, it's a choice! But when they are actively attacking people that's when support is required.
