  1. can anyone recommend campsites right by the sea? ( for two adults and 15 month old baby boy) we dont want to drive for more than 2-3 hours though. any good ideas, recommendations would be much welcomed. Thanks.
  2. Maxi Cosy Priory - brilliant in terms of safety because of the extra strap tension, once fitted, it is rock solid. Also nice hooks for straps to make getting in and out easier. 4 recline positions. We spent ages chosing and ended up buying one and my little one, who normally hates carseats is in fact very happy in it. He is quite tall too, but I am told this will last until he is about 4 yrs old. Read more on a review about it here http://www.babyworld.co.uk/information/reviews/product.asp?id=189 Hope it helps. X
  3. Try H.M.V I know they sell the individual movies for quite cheep, so they may have the box set. Big Fan Bruce

  5. Thank you for all the replies, it really helps getting the different opinions / experiences, even if they are harsh. Of course I have looked into other options, but unfortunately we dont have family over here ( wish I had a granny near by), we cannot afford nannies, and good childminders are few and far between, although I am still searching in the hope that the right person may appear. The nursery he is due to go to is in fact the one both me and my husband really loved, and thought most suitable for him and I am glad he has got a space as they have a long waiting list. I have been trying to give him some "tough love" and reduce the feeds, teach him how to settle himself since he turned 6 months, but somehow he always gets away with it - overseas visitors, being sick, teething, etc... I think part of the problem is I am a softie myself. Thanks sb for the kind message, I have now worked out a structured plan to reduce his feeds - cutting one feed out every two weeks (starting with the daytime ones) and then getting my hubby to help with cutting out the night time ones in the New Year will work out perfect and should give him enough time to slowly get used to the new routine. Thanks crsytal7 for sharing your experiences, its reassuring to know that things do work out in the end! Thanks monkey for the straight forward, honest and practical advice. littleEDfamily, I am sorry to hear you are also struggling, but still good to know we are not alone! Hope you can crack the nap thing. Good luck everyone and thanks again X
  6. My little one is due to go to nursery in March, when he will be 1 year old. I am worried about him settling in. He is still breastfed every 3-4 hours (day and night) and that is the only way he will go to sleep (fall asleep on booby) He is also the quiet type, and I am worried he will hate nursery with all the noise, etc. Any ideas / advice on how to prepare him, how to make settling in easier? Thanks.
  7. similar concept, check this out http://www.fisher-price.com/us/playtime/games/infantGames_animalfun.asp more on their site
  8. you could make up your own baby rice (the ready ones are disguisting, no wonder they dont want to eat it) ? dcl rice flour / you can also use buckwheat 1.1/5 dcl cold water 1 tbsp fat (olive oil, butter, etc) ? dcl breast milk Mix flour and cold water, bring to boil while stirring, simmer for 2-3 mins, switch off heat, mix in fat, mix in breast / bottle / cows milk Or you could use corn flour, and alternate between the three, so they don't get bored of one. ? dcl corn flour 1.1/2 dcl cold water 1 tbsp fat ? cold milk Hope this helps. X
  9. Thanks, the file was too big so got rejected and I did not realise - here it is with all the details you need, thanks for pointing it out. Hope you can make it!
  10. London Glassblowing are having a Summer Sale this coming weekend! I attach the invite, feel free to go along, there are lots of beautiful glass at good prices, free demos, drinks and nibbles, etc. There is also an amazing shoe shop just down the road from the studio, called Terra Plana, it is their head office and they have sample sales, etc. very funky shoes at 10-20-30 quid that would normally cost hundreds. Definately worth a visit! Bus 343 to Borough High street or Bus 78 to Bermondsey Square both stop just a street away. Feel free to pass this invite onto anybody you think may be interested. Thanks!
