  1. I'm also waiting for Amazon parcels, ordered 3rd December despatched 10th December. Mrs Dennis too, so looks like I'm heading for a sock shortage crisis.
  2. It can happen with any car. Happened recently to someone I know in Streatham. As she parked in the street, 3 thieves threatened her took the keys and car which was used in a robbery the next day. The car usually gets burnt out to destroy any DNA.
  3. Sorry to hear of your problems 'pebbles' and 'i*Rate' I'm a tree hugger too but I don't want them moving in. I had a meeting with two surveyors yesterday sent by a structural engineering company who are to underpin the front of my next door neighbours house. A Southwark tree has damaged the bay and front wall of his house. I can put my hand into the cracks. Not 100% sure of the course the negotiations have taken but I can find out if it helps. He and another neighbour approached Southwark a few years ago who Pollarded it but refused to remove it. As I recall from a conversation with him last year the engineers had taken core samples up against the house and found tree roots. They were going to court not sure if that happened but it has been settled and (I believe) Southwark are footing the whole bill. I think the Structural engineers have handled the whole process. Time is of the essence he mention a case that had been refused by the insurance company as the house owner had left the damage for too long a period before reporting the problem. To cap it all as the property is being underpinned they won't remove the tree so no doubt as it grows it will effect adjoining properties - like mine. Nice tree, wrong location. http://www.gardenlaw.co.uk
  4. Hello James I also seem to hear of more crime in the area, I know people who were burgled yesterday and last weekend. Do you have a figure for the number of reported offenses solved by the police.
  5. Anyone know if the Actress does BandB. Can't find a working web site for the joint.
  6. There has been a steady rise in this kind of ASB since BT started to remove the red telephone boxes.
  7. oh well ... roll-on 20th August 2020 although the old knees are going, I might need a volunteer to help me to a suitable viewing point to not see them again!
  8. Junior Wg Cdr Dennis and I went to the parked armed with binoculars .... didn't see a thing !
  9. Would the gracious folk of EDF be equally accommodating to Mr Sainsbury if he coned off the area adjacent to his Dulwich Plough shop from 9 to 5pm ? Debatably he also provides a "valued community service".
  10. I had a Passat still got an ariel, was your ariel one of the screw in ones with a strange raised part along the length. You can have if it fits.
  11. I misread this post, I thought it said 'there is a tripe shop ..... in NCR' The street is full of offal shops, it would be a change to have one honest enough to admit it. eccentric Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is a triple shop site on the market on NCR > opposite Hope & Greenwood, Blue Mountain and Dr > Boo. Would make a lovely JW.
  12. Where and when is the next meeting, I have points to raise. Do you know who attends from officialdom and what the normal agenda is ? 13. A private hire taxi driver in a people carrier almost crashed into me yesterday. He was turning from Crystal Palace Rd into Underhill Rd. If you're reading this may I suggest you brush your teeth before leaving home in future, should help make the roads a little safer for all of us.
  14. I agree Jeremy, perhaps Lindsay from the South London Press should take it up, at least she has the honesty to declare her interest and identity. I made an enquiry and have been told "Mercury Press Agency" is totally innocent and is certainly not the culprit. "Mercury Press" is a different source. supergolden88 you should invoice every user as ClareC advises, single repro rate wouldn't be much but will soon add up with a nights emailing. I'd bet the established papers would pay as they know the 'identity' of the supplier.
  15. The photograph in the link to Daily newspaper above has a 'Copyright' credit on the photograph. They are a large and well respected news agency with an excellent reputation who sell stories and images worldwide. It's a nice little good news story probably appear on and off for weeks and more worldwide. If you are the legal owner of the copyright of the image you should contact the legal dept.and 'put them on notice' of such. If you want them to stop using it you must instruct them to cease and ask for proposals for payment of damages. If you wish to allow further use then you issue a license with duration, terms and fees agreed for 'permission to use' the image. As the photographer you should never give away or sell copyright instead you issue a license. Then at the end of the term it's yours to sell again. The press and stringers follow up stories on the www, you can often find a totally decent and honest "I'm a reporter for XYZ..." thread on here. The agency probably bought the article/photo in good faith so beware of who you 'dis' in these pages. Large corporations have large lawyers.
  16. Nice one Charlie, this was my dream for when I won the lottery. Good luck hope you can make it work it could be fantastic.
