Children do not scream for "no reason". And neglect is considered a form of abuse. Agreeing with the OP's action given her description of events does not impart veracity to her story. It merely indicates that others agree with a hypothetical course of action. It's up to the OP of course to use her own judgement regarding social media. Personally I find her actions reasonable and restrained. A less restrained individual might have simply reported it to social services afterall.

You need to establish how much is truly the dystonia and how much hoarseness could be from the meds. I would also consider whether the asthma has been properly diagnosed, and what other steroid formulations are available. This is something that usually requires the advice of specialist consultants. She could keep her GP, but she needs to push for a referral to a specialist(s). This would typically be an ENT. Correct evaluation is critical because the causes of hoarseness with dystonia vs steroids may be different. They may even be essentially opposed. So, treating a dystonia could worsen the steroid-induced muscle myopathy. In the meantime, here are a few things to consider. Could she drop down on the dose of meds? If she is using an aerosol type inhaler, has she been given a spacer? For aerosol or dry powder inhalers, has she received correct support on inhaler usage to minimise exposure to the mouth and throat? Is she adequately rinsing and gargling after inhaler use? Hoarseness is a known SE of certain asthma inhalers. It should not be difficult for any GP to recognise this and take adequate steps towards minimising the problem. If dystonia is complicating the diagnoses, then that's all the more reason to seek specialist advice. xx

I hope you're able to reach the parents from this post. I would be both angry and mortified if this had been someone looking after my daughter. Of course there's always the off chance that the parents treat the child this way too. Grrr. But at least you saw something amiss and have taken steps to do something about it. If you don't have any luck with the ED Forum, I wonder whether there is an active FaceBook forum for Peckham Rye park? I know there are active forums for e.g. Telegraph Hill and Hilly Fields/SE4 user groups. xx

Emmanuelle Marshall Children's Shoes in Syndenham is excellent. They carry some brands which aren't commonly found on the high street, and they have an excellent fitting service. They're good for hard-to-fit feet too. xx https://www.familiesonline.co.uk/local/lewisham/listing/emmanuelle-marshall-children's-shoes

There is a guideline for selling animals... From Admin, in the Sales section- There was quite a lengthy discussion on this a while back. Free animals are fine. Selling needs to be linked to a site such as the webpage of an established or registered breeder. I believe this was intended to deter the inappropriate sale or purchase of animals.

Offering animals for free (eg rehoming) is permitted afaik.

Hope it worked out! :)

Working in your favour, olive oil is not considered highly volatile. It will smoke easily but does not ignite readily, relatively speaking.
-
You could try to burn it off a little bit at a time. Set the empty toaster to run on its very lowest setting. Or, let it run until a tiny whisp of smoke appears. Shut it off and let it cool. Repeat until no more smoke comes out when you run the toaster. Keep something to hand in the unlikely case there is a fire. (Ideally, you should be prepared for a kitchen fire anytime.) If there is a fire, you would need to unplug the toaster and smother it with a fire blanket or thick damp towel. Do NOT use water or a standard extinguisher on a grease or electrical fire. If you have an extension cable, you could run the toaster for a few cycles on a fire resistant surface in your garden, if you have one. Of course it's hard to say without seeing your toaster, so it's a bit of a judgement call. xx

Sadiq Khan acts to increase affordable housing and prioritise for Londoners
Saffron replied to Angelina's topic in The Lounge
But the question, for me, is how much difference will it make to prioritise Londoners, if the properties are not truly affordable for average Londoners? :-/ -
Started cleaning the fishtank but I got distracted and didn't remove the siphon. Came back 10min later, and the fish were flopping around in puddles in the bottom of the tank! Luckily they all survived. :-)

Best way to send packages to the US?
Saffron replied to devsdev's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I have used Royal Mail services for years and found them to be fine for sending parcels to the US. xx -
Thanks for the update. Glad Sly is fine. I hope the owners of the other cat will be found soon. So sorry for their loss. We have always kept our cats in at night and will continue to do so. xx

This nutahells it fairly well regarding current events, but the issues surround development of nuclear fission vs alt energy are a whole other kettle of fish. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jul/29/from-feast-to-farce-how-the-big-hinkley-point-c-party-and-project-got-put-on-ice

It's such a big issue, I feel stumped where to begin. Maybe you could break it down Socratic style with some specific questions to get the ball rolling for us? xx

Before or after the > move? > > Regards, > Nicole By law your deposit must be held with the Deposit Protection Scheme, and you must have received the DPS registration number when you signed the lease. Your landlord could be in real legal trouble otherwise, and possibly liable for refunding some of your rent. If you have the DPS number, then you and the agent must agree what amount is kept/ returned, and this could be complex if you're withholding rent due to the unrepaired damage for which you're not responsible (which is within your rights if the damage has made the room uninhabitable). You absolutely have to take some legal advice on this from CAB, Shelter, or similar. You should be able to get basic advice from many such organisations for free (or low cost). You don't need a fancy lawyer. You just need to understand your rights and hold your ground. Very best of luck. Glad to hear you've found a new place. xx

Probably not much point going back to the same dentist for advice on avoiding drilling in this case. However, I think waiting a couple months will not improve the outcome. In general terms, either the decay is suitable for remineralisation or not. Fluoride varnish is the treatment with the most weight of evidence, though dietary interventions may boost the effects of fluoride varnish. This treatment needs to be given under supervision. The longer you wait, the worse the decay may become, surely? Good luck! :-) xx

I'll happily do that. No problem whatsoever. In fact, not even very interesting. Just to make it more challenging, let's drop some acid first.

Have the details of the story changed? Something you did in your flat caused your neighbour's flat to flood your ceiling? Sorry, genuinely confused. Hope you're ok. xx
