  1. One of the best things about growing up in the North East.... Tudor Crisps, especially the Pickled Onion ones.
  2. John, it also mentioned a Priory, so I am not too sure. In all probability it would have been the 18C building. In any case, I do know there's no medieval hawthorn anywhere to be seen there now!!
  3. End of September....same contractors as Dulwich Baths, maybe?
  4. Attached are the three photos I previously mentioned. For anyone interested, the church was dedicated on 19 April 1885 and remained as in the first image until December 1928 when a fire broke out causing considerable damage to the spirette. The second image, showing the square tower, was taken around the beginning of 1932. The last attachment shows the original church as seen from Barry Road. It was taken in the vicarage garden, which formed part of the old Manor House garden and was said to include a hawthorn dating back to the time of Queen Elizabeth I.
  5. some a*hole threw a couple of eggs (sadly raw and not hard boiled) at our front window some months ago. Thankfully no repeat.
  6. There's an image of the original St Clement's Church (Friern Road) in the exhibition and I've got a photo of the church after the first fire when the tower was rebuilt as well as a view of the original church from Barry Road that also shows a garden party going on in the Vicarage garden. However, I currently only have them as pdfs. Anyone know how I can upload them?
  7. This has shades of the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. "No pens for you!"
  8. Many thanks to the person who left the double mattress outside St Clement's on Friern Road. I look forward to a snooze during Sunday's service. Seriously though, pigs.
  9. Stand aside Basil Brush and make room for Helen Lederer shopping in Sainsbury's on Sunday a'ernoon.
  10. What about Santa, Jah? I only ask because I saw him in the queue at the kebab shop on LL on Saturday. (Strictly speaking, one for the "Most famous person I've seen in ED so far.... " thread...)
  11. I saw BBC celebrity Basil Brush on Barry Road last night. Least it looked like him...
  12. Obviously time to start the Dulwich Hunt!!! In the style of DJKQ, *waits for onslaught*
  13. welcome to Jamaica - have a nice day
  14. Out of interest, Steve, was is sinister about Freemasonry? As far as I am aware there is no law in place to actively not control it. What would you wish to see controlled?
  15. I went in there last Friday and asked the opening date and was told September.
  16. It's a broadband issue. I too am supposed to be on 20meg, but have had countless problems with the internet vanishing for hours at a time. was wondering whether it was time to switch back to BT...
  17. Is anyone else in the SE22 area having trouble with Virgin Media's service of late?
