  5. Dulwich Fox said: "Plenty of new busineses opening up in ED. trying to make a quick buck with no actual commitment. They will inevitably be another empty shop in 6 months" "It's fine if you like unrefridgerated sausage resembling a condom full of gristle toe-nails and beaks." There is nothing sold on the stalls in North Cross Road that I need." "I have never been tempted by any of the food available. The smell just puts me off. Must be dreadful living right on N C Rd." Bitter old man springs to mind ....
  6. Dulwich Fox ... to express your opinion on the East Dulwich Forum i am all for, freedom of speech and all that malarky but after reading your comments i just thought i need to enlighten you with a few facts! You said "Most of the stuff on sale is overpriced tat" ... let's take a look at Lisa E Moss's stall for example, she is a very very successful jewellery designer having learnt her trade at Goldsmiths and has gone on to set up her own Company. She made her fashion debut in 2007. Sienna Miller for Twenty Eight Twelve invited her to produce her unique jewellery to the collection and has done ever since producing 4 seasonal collections every year which are a sell out. Lisa's client and fan base is one established largely by word of mouth and includes a broad spectrum of talents and personalities, including Anne Hathaway, Jacquetta Wheeler, Sienna and Savannah Miller, Kelly Hoppen, Gin Clarke, Robin Wright Penn, Fru Tholstrup, Linda Davidson, Lesley Sharp, Kate Thornton, Linda Barker and professional skate boarder Brian Sumner among others. Lisa is a born and bred Liverpudlian and despite her success she continues to trade every Saturday come rain or shine on Northcross market because she loves East Dulwich and loves chatting with the local community. You said "Most of the food I.E Cheese , Sausage , Deli Unrefridgerated" I agree with Civil Servant and having the knowledge that Cheese and Salami/Chorizo does not need to be refrigerated. For example my good friends @ Mothers Dumplings stall probe everything every 20 minutes, checking temperatures and keeping the hot food at the correct temperatures. They serve outstanding food, fresh, quality and extremely nutritious. I witness a queue every week, like most food stalls. You said "People are coming to their sences and no longer buying" Where is your evidence? I know a good 50% of the market stall holders and yes they will admit that August is a lot quieter, but in general the market is growing and so are the customers. These are peoples livelyhoods that you are referring to, they are trying damned hard to make a living, support them rather than slate them. I could go on but i won't, I will be outside Rouillier White selling our goodies from Jacks on Saturday and i would gladly chat to you about this, I am not one to hide behind a computer, then we can take a walk down to northcross and introduce you to these hard working market stall holders, who turn out week in week out, rain, shine, snow and sleet giving something back and making East Dulwich the fab unique place it is! You may change your opinion then....
  7. Claire E do you own a business? It's precautionary measures against mindless scum bag opportunists who take pleasure in smashing windows and setting fire to properties. There are flats above William Rose where people live. Have you not been watching the news? This bloody forum sometimes shows peoples ignorance and peoples boredom, fancy starting a thread like this.
  8. james Barber - specials sign up for 25 hours and do not get all the travelling perks of the full time police officers.
  9. Monica! Fab Come see us in September and we will donate towards the project Monica! (tu) Di & Alex
  10. He/she is really thin and dirty and we keep seeing him/her around Pellatt Road. He/She is around mornings and early eve's. I hope he has a home :))I have got some pics on my i phone but it won't load up. He/she has a bib of white fur under his chin, white back legs and toes are white!
  11. We have a little doggy and always pick up, i wouldn't dream of not doing. At least 2 mornings a week we open our front door and there is a pile in front of our door or Jacks Cafe, it annoys me so much. Unfortunately there is a small minority of people around these parts that think a dog is a fashion accessory and to pick up a pile of poo and be a responsible dog owner would be extremely "uncool". The last time i confronted someone i was told to foxtrot oscar. I'd rather pick it up myself than go through that again. It's only going to get worse in my opinion as the streets are getting filthier with the government cutting back on street sweeping....:X
  12. Something has to be done, it is driving us crazy. I was in bed with ear plugs in last night and could still hear the dog. It's not the dogs fault but the owners. It's definately Landcroft!
  13. Lucy/Zeban Count us in in! We will do anything to help. Di & Alex Jacks Tea & Coffee House
  14. My point about calling 999 is the probability of that van being involved in theft is high, it could possibly be carrying stolen goods etc and given that i am an ex copper i think i know what i am talking about.
