  1. Hi, yes I do teach a class for little ones! I teach a 0-2 year class at 11am - 11.45am on Wednesdays at the Goose Green Centre. It's suitable for very young babies. I've had little ones start as young as 10 weeks old and, in my opinion, they get such a lot from it. Of course at that age they can't yet clap their hands or jump up and down etc (!) but there's so much stimulation for them, aurally and visually. It's also a fun activity for the mums of little ones - very friendly and relaxed - and a good chance to learn some new songs to sing with them at home! The term starts tomorrow and you'd be ever so welcome to come along for a free trial class and see how your baby takes to it.
  2. Thank you for your enquiry about Music for Little People. My East Dulwich classes are on Wednesdays at the Goose Green Centre, East Dulwich Rd, SE22 9AT. I teach a class for 2-4 year olds at 10am. It is one hour long. The fees for the Spring 2016 term are ?80.00 for a ten week term (or ?72.00 after an initial free trial class). There would be no charge for your 1 year old, who's more than welcome to 'tag along'. I still have a few spaces available and you'd be very welcome to come along on 6th January (the first week of term) with your children for a free trial class and then join for rest of the term if you wish. I've been teaching Music for Little People for nineteen years. My classes are very friendly and relaxed. The children learn such a lot without realising it. The classes involve lots of singing, movement and dancing, playing with instruments, listening to beautiful and exciting music, work on dynamics and the basic concept of writing music, puppets and rhythm sticks, listening games, counting games etc. Each week I give the children song sheets to take home, and I also give them 'homework' - i.e. a picture to colour in (and bring back the following week for a star or a sticker!) that relates to something that we're singing about or working on at the time. If you wish to come along for a free trial this Wednesday please could you get back to me to let me know your children's names and dates of birth, along with a contact phone number for you. Many thanks. I look forward to hearing from you and, hopefully, meeting you all on Wednesday at 10am. Please don't hesitate to get back to me if you have any queries or would like any more information. Kind regards, Becky Vicary. I thought you might like to read some kind things my mums have said about my classes! Annie (Beckenham) says: I have been attending this class with my 2 year old son for a year and he absolutely loves it! The classes are completely relaxed and fun and Becky fills the sessions with the most wonderful and diverse selection of music. She lets the children try out lots of different instruments and even had them playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as a group with a set of Boomwhackers! I thoroughly recommend this brilliant class. Becky's knowledge and passion for music is infectious and I think this is an ideal introduction for pre-schoolers. Rachael (East Dulwich) says: Don?t go anywhere else!! Becky is just fantastic; not only does she have a sublime singing voice and engaging acting talent (she?s a properly trained professional) but she is ebullient and warm ? without fail, every week! She never ?phones it in? and all the children absolutely adore her because she engages with and encourages, each and every one of them, at every session. We have been going for two years now and my son has flourished in her classes, learning all about music through singing, dance, storytelling, rhythm play, listening, instruments, puppetry and more, without being aware for a second that he's learning at all. It is such good fun, it's the highlight of our week. I cannot recommend Music For Little People highly enough. I would encourage you to try a taster session and find out for yourself how excellent it is. Caroline (Lee Green) says: I ended up in Becky's class by mistake (2 week-old -2nd-child-brain) but she let us stay despite the class being full and was so lovely that we signed up for another class and have been going for the last 2 years. I really like her manner with the children - she makes them all feel special and as a result they all really try hard to please her. My daughter has learnt so much from her. We tried a lot of different classes but Becky's was the only one she wanted to go to without fail every week and definitely my favourite! She will be very sad to leave when she goes to school in September. Lara (Lee Green) says: I have taken my son to Becky's class since he was 6 months old and we are still going strong at nearly 3 years! He responds really positively (as do all children in the group) to Becky's classes and her fun, loving, engaging attitude/persona. She manages the artful balance of a talented professional in her field and is the most friendly, positive and child-minded person to hold a toddler music group. I have tried many music classes and she really is the best by far. Music for Little People really is good value for money and all about 'the little people'! She naturally pulls the best from each and every one of the children in the group. From watching my son and his friends in the class, Becky takes time to ensure every child feels important.

  7. The fees are ?58.00 for a ten week term of 45 minute classes. I ask that people pay for a whole term. That way, I know how many people are coming each week and, more importantly, everyone gets to know each other and it becomes a lovely, social event for both the babies and the adults! You'd be very welcome to come and try a class, free of charge. I'm there today, or next week is fine if that suits you better. Hope to meet you soon. Best wishes, Becky (Music for Little People).
