  1. The NSPCC has launched a parent facing campaign today - on keeping children safe online. It is called Share Aware. http://www.nspcc.org.uk/preventing-abuse/keeping-children-safe/share-aware/ With an online guide, primarily aimed at parents of 8-12 year olds, about the social networks, apps or games with an interactive element that children use most frequently: http://www.net-aware.org.uk/ I thought that most of us on here may be interested in reading up!
  2. Lots of reading books about new baby, watching a Dora DVD "Big Sister", lots of talking about what was going to happen and how she was going to be "Mummy and Dadd's helper", No 2 buying her a baby of her own which he gave at the hospital - and lots more chat about the pending arrival. The important bit also came after the arrival - letting lots of interaction happen between them, lots of touching and playing, passing nappies and getting her to feed, change and put to sleep her baby at the same time as No 2 was getting all these! Making sure that No 2's needs were met, if not immediately, then as soon as the activity with No 1 ended. All these worked a treat for us, and No 1 was as happy as a larry when No 2 showed, and there has not been much trouble since (now in month 10!)
  3. There is a Charlie and Lola book- I will not never eat a tomato, which references cloud fluff (mashed pots), orange twiglets (carrots), moonbusters (tomatoes), etc. My 2.5 yr old loves the book and it has encouraged us both to invent names for foods which results in all sorts being eaten! Love some of the ideas on here already! Hope there is more to come!
  4. I'll third the recommendation for Elaine - she has been fantastic with my 2.5 year old and 10 month old. She works in the therapy rooms on Lordship Lane, above the health food store....
  5. I have a 2.5 year old and she just loves Diddi Dance! She smiles from the minute she wakes up on her 'Diddi Dance day' until she goes to bed.....and then spends at least 3 days after doing the routines, pretending to be Anne-Marie (the teacher) and telling anyone and everyone about it. You have a free trial session - so I definitely say give it a go! My daughter was 2 when we started - she got into the swing of things straight away, despite being one of the youngest in the class. She loves music and dance though - so I guess it was a given really.
