Everybody has a Point.. and therefore I must have a Point too.. .. But a Point in every direction is the same as having no Point at all.. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-YOULHiLbz-Y/UZwJe0i2pCI/AAAAAAAABbg/mJ2EidxTc50/s1600/walk.jpg Harry Nilsson Foxy

New Shops in Dulwich / Peckham

I think Cafe Noodle may be on it's way out.. It has been closing at 10.30pm for a good while now.. but sometimes earlier. The lady there is very nice.. I spoke to her about the shop some time back.. Can't for the life of me remember what is going on there. I think it is another rent issue... ... Mr Liu is closed/closing soon for a short while for a refit... DulwichFox -

police using speed radar checks on camberwell grove
DulwichFox replied to northdulmum's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Well there are various schemes where motorists will be sent a letter.. or a Police Officer will pay them a visit.. you could get a warning but persistent offenders will be fined... There is a new camera that will do this being trialed in parts of the UK. There are going to be so many people creeping over the 20MPH limit getting fines... gettting points ... losing their licences.. There will soon be far fewer cars on the road.. These new cameras are tiny and do not use film... Its incredibly hard and very risky > to start a new venture (as DF actually knows). No.. I went passed at midday one day last week but they were not open at the time and no sign of life.. There was a box of the said White Bread Baps (as featured on web-site) on the floor.. .. and there were only 4 options of fillings on the menu in the window... .. so I was showing genuine interest. It's not a case of having tried it. I do not eat White Bread Baps.. .. and just do not get the Taiwanese connection So... I did not slag anyone off.. You are the only one slagging someone off. Bao... Fillings in a Soft White Bread baps.. not very exiting.. and not at all healthy.. .. a healthy Rye .. Granary ... Sourdough... roll would seem a nicer option.. DulwichFox -

Jah Lush Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Arf! Was gonna say something similar, Seabag. So, > how long did it last Fox? I certainly don't > remember the shop. Couldn't have been long. My shop was at 13 upland Road.. Previously a Tanning Shop... and for decades before a Cycle Shop... The other half of the shop was a Damp Proofing company.. I was there in 1993.. My company was called Seasonal Supplies Ltd. The shop was a bit isolated and I was paying ?750.00 a month. rent.. 23 years ago. Trade was slow and I did not want to take on the 14 year lease so I left and the shop was turned into 2 flats. Now a new business is there.. Northcross / Uplands Rds were deserted back then with no market.. and few shops... Wrong place.. Wrong time.. I worked as a Temp driver for Dial-a Ride then spent another 14 years back in Telecomms. A Sugar Tax will do nothing to stop people consuming sugar in the same way as taxation on tobacco and alcohol in itself stops people Drinking and Smoking.. Jamie Oliver is still selling Full Sugar cola in his outlets but I understand he he as put a levi on prices.. So this just increases his profits while getting all the 'This Little Good Boy' publicity. Why does he not just sell sugar free.. DulwichFox

LondonMix Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yes, by that logic, restaurants aren't a safe bet > either Lou. Many of those have closed down and > changed hands in the last 10 years. That is because people arn't willing to put in the hours... Opening when they feel fit.. Closing when they arn't busy. Owning such a business IS hard work.. but people opening Pop-ups trying to make a quick buck. Places like The Curry Cabin.. 40+ years trading on Lordship Lane ..Same owner.. Staying open when not busy.. Does anyone think ANY of these new places will still be here in 40 years time.. Any business lasting 40+ years has got to of got it right especially where there is so much compitition.. I don't think so .

Britain?s pubs are closing at a rate of 29 a week ? and London and the South East are the hardest hit. The Campaign for Real Ale said the region has seen weekly closures rise by 11 per cent in a year to 10 10 pubs a week in London and the South East closing down.. That is sad.. Foxy

With a new Pop-up cafe opening vertually every other day it seems a better option to a pub.. which are closing down.
