  1. Till receipts are proof of purchase. You should be insisting on getting a receipt. Many people require them for claiming back expenses. and VAT. Where items are scanned, the till is part of auto stock control and receipts are printed automatically. You will need your receipt if you need to return goods.

  4. Flying Ants can be a sign of imminent rain and thunder. They appear when the temp. and humidity rises. detail here if interested. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7525028.stm
  5. For a thread titled 'The Bishop roof terrace' not much here about the Roof Terrace. Have seen pics. and looks very nice. Have not yet ventured up the Spiral Staircase. It's the coming back down that worrys me. :) I am quite content to sit out front watching East Dulwich (If not the World) go by. Counting the cars that ignore the signs and turn right from East Dulwich Road. Very good sun trap. Can get very hot out there. DulwichFox

  8. During the 60's I was a pupil at William Penn North Dulwich. We made an 8mm film. It was called The Magic Coin. When it was rubbed, it made things dissappear. I did the stunt, whilst getting into a row-boat on the lake, the coin was rubbed, the boat dissappeared and I fell in. There was about a foot of water and 9 inches of mud. There were no ridiculous Council regs in those days stopping kids from being kids.
  9. On a recent visit to Dulwich Park I note that there are boats back on the lake. They operate in a limited area and a fee of ?4.00 P.P for 1/2 hour. Which is a bit steep. They seem to attract 'dads' whilst the small kids are left screaming in terror, wearing the over sized life-jackets. I also notice that all the Wild life in that area have gone. Not a Dickie - Bird to be seen. The ducks and geese were a great favorite with all the kids. Your comments much welcomed. DulwichFox

The Uplands closed yesterday. I am informed by Upland locals, work will take 8 weeks. Who knows how long 8 weeks is. :)

  12. I am suprised at the response. I was testing you folks. I was just making sure my new account was working. Nothing crafty. Just a test. Thread can be closed.
