  1. Please be aware. If you do not have a Tax Disc but do have insurance, that insurance is INVALID. If you have an accident you are NOT COVERED So if you still think people should mind their own business, It is everyones business.
  2. Cheers *Bob* I was ranting on about Midnight Express. Doh.

  4. Deleted due to the fact I was talking about Midnight Express. I need Coffee.
  5. Just saw on River Cottage an item on Spoots, Razor Fish ? Serched on line and found this. Spoot Salt fishing. Really funny clip. Had to share. http://fifediet.co.uk/2010/03/10/spoots/
  6. I had a shop in ED back in 1993. I looked at a small shop on the main parade of shops in D. Village. The Rates back then were ?13,000 P.A. I hate to think what the rates would be now say for the Piaf site. :-$
  7. Narnia Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Can shoes make you happy? Imelda Marcos had 1000's of shoes She donated 800 pairs to The Philippines museum In the mid-1990s she was convicted of graft in a separate corruption case and sentenced to a minimum 12 years imprisonment. BUT was she happy. ??
  8. Must admit. I only went there once. A few years back. Only had a Coffee and a piece of cake. V expensive ?6.00ish. Even then staff were disinterested. But expected a tip. Glad it's gone.

  11. Re: panther on the loose in Dulwich Wood? Posted by: DulwichFox July 27, 12:28PM I have walked through Dulwich Wood many times, explorering the many paths. I am always amazed at the lack of wildlife. I have seen a few pigeons and crows. I have never seen a fox or even a squirrel. I rest my case. :))
  12. I am a single pereson. Restaurants in general do not want to intertain single people because they take up a table which could host 2-4 people. A few years back they were glad of your custom. I do not drink much. Loud drunk people spend money. So resturanteurs put up with the crap.
  13. Hi tog_in_sox I'm on a BT Connection. Which is a copper connection served by old telegraph pole. I believe ED area is served from Dulwich Exchange Lordship Lane. I don't download large music files so not too much affected by speed but never get 2mbts Do have a lot of trouble with the BT Mail Server which crashes so frequently. Would be tempted to move to another ISP but would mean losing my e-mail names.

What I am saying is. If you want to eat with loads of loud mouth yuppies. or drunk idiots insulting the waiters. ED is fine. I have been eating out in ED since 1974. Try finding a peaceful restaurant (serving decent food) Thursday - Sunday. ED is not a holiday resort. Hard to believe though.
  15. I am seldom out after midnight. Lordship Lane after 10.00pm now resembles St. Antonio Ibiza, or Malia in Crete. For locals it is almost impossible to find somewhere to eat. For some reason people travel miles to reach East Dulwich. It now has a reputation for all the wrong reasons. Underage drinking is a real problem. It is very sad to see young girls throwing up on the street. Loutish behavour from seemingly 'Well to do' yobbos. People come to ED. because they can get drunk. (Not cheeply. Prices are high.) Drugs ??? probably cheaper than beer.
  16. WORSE. Inconsistant Service. Often empty shelves 'Resembling 1950's Eastern European Shop. Many reduced items due to imminent use by date. Fish I bought which did have 3 days left, already rotten. Suggests it had been relabled. Prices match that of the over-priced Tesco/Sainsburys convience stores. Counter staff generally polite.
  17. That's it then. Multi-story car park On Goose-Green.
  18. Hi emc. I think studentmidwife is right. Further reading explains the situation. http://www.mx5nem.org.uk/showthread.php?2850-Has-your-photo-card-driving-license-expired But check my earlier post.
  19. Hi emc. I spoke to the DVLC about this issue. You would normally recieve a reminder from the DVLC. when it is due for renewal Have a look here. It explains what to do if you do not recieve a reminder. Not clear if your licence is still valid. You will need to contact them. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/DriverLicensing/NeedANewOrUpdatedLicence/DG_078070
  20. I do not have , want , need an iphone. If I should ever feel the need to tell someone "I'M ON THE BUS" I use my old basic cheap Nokia.
  21. Hi TheArtfulDogger I have had probs with mice for years. Most people in E.D. do. You HAVE to kill them. Not nice, but they carry many diseases that can even make you blind. Not just the poos which you can see, but they are incontinent and pee contiuously. Poison is not good, it takes days to kill them and they really stink for many days when they die. They rot and you will be infestested with blue bottles. Traps are best. They are can be nasty, but generally they are quick. These ones below do not need bait. I have used the sound plug-ins and they work well in kitchens with hard surfaces. The sound does not penetrate walls so they need to be located in the correct place. Traps are cheap. About ?1.00 from B&Q. Sound plugins also from B&Q ?29.00 for 4 (approx)

  24. Be carefull putting litter in street bins. This guy was fined ?50.00 for putting 2 bits of junk mail in a street bin. Putting someone elses trash in a street bin 'might' land you in trouble. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2006/03/10/fined-for-putting-his-litter-in-a-bin-115875-16796257/
  25. Back in the 70's I saw Pink Floyd at the 'Bowl' I believe it was free. Memory fails me. :)
