Been to both OS and Upton Park. As soon as we sat down at OS me and my friend (fellow gooner) both said that OS wouldn't work as a football stadium as pitch too far from seating.

Herded like cattle tonight to get to platforms 8-16 - totally unnecessary in my opinion since there was plenty of room on the concourse and most people can go straight to the platforms

Loved the opening ceremony - only spoiled by Paul McCartney at the end. Watching swimming and olympics this morning and have to say slight amazed by the number of empty seats in the arenas - after all the ticket allocation rumpus - did not all the tickets get sold?

Had a great night - and well done to all the performers - esp the ones from ED! Got home around midnight despite central line being down. Food and drink tasty - if a bit expensive but as expected. Only criticism was the serving staff - they looked like rabbits caught in headlights! They said they had had some training but I think actually serving people came as a surprise to them! You can take empty water bottles into the stadium and fill up for free at drinking taps.

I was planning on using M4 today but just had a call from a friend advising another crack has been found and it is closed. Just wanted to warn anyone else heading out west today to allow extra time for your journey along the A4 or find alternative route

Hope we can cash in on RVP - I think we have had the best of him - and only cost ?2.7m so can't complain. No point in holding onto him for the next season if he doesn't want to be there.
