Just listening to In Rainbows now, I bought the diskbox and you receive the download as part of the deal along with the tracks on double 180gsm vinyl, a CD version and a CD of 'extra' tracks. Radiohead are certainly not my favourite band, in fact it was Kid A and Amnesiac that pulled me into their orbit, but I'm a bit of a collector and prefer a physical format. For Radiohead this is a great way of getting their music out there but I can't see it working for the majority of new bands that will still need the financial input of a label to tour, buy gear, pay rents etc. Not too sure what band's publishers will say if the music starts being given away for free. PS - quite like the first 3 tracks so far

Not having a go at Peckhamgatecrasher but I can't abide the use of words such as "sos" and "prolly". People saying "laters" or "enjoy" really makes my skin crawl as well. Sorry PGC

In light of the news that you'll be able to choose the price that you might want to pay for the download of the new Radiohead LP and that the Charlatans will give away their new LP [some may say that it's not worth anything anyway]what do people think 10 or 12 new songs are worth? http://arts.independent.co.uk/music/news/article3015279.ece

Kicking off Krautrock Friday with Brainticket, unfortunately not the full length version

Mockney, can't find any rockers using Moogs, might need to wait until Progressive Thursday to unleash the ELP / Yes tracks but they mustn't overlap with Krautrock Friday Hawkwind - Silver Machine - Don't think it's a Moog, possibly a ring modulator of some kind?

bagpuss78 and lozzyloz, thanks for the news, all be it sad. I guess it'll be a mad rush to stock up on the pork chips before the shops finally shut down, it's a pity as no other sausage seems to have that slightly spicy / caramelly combination. Oh the joys of a split Kennedy's pork sausage Ben

Possibly Sean but unlike Greggs they still refuse to sell heated products and their meat doesn't have that strange pink hue. I think that they still sell brawn or tongue and their blackcurrant pies are a joy, although probably an unhealthy one if you eat too many! Ben PS - I have no affiliation or connection with Kennedy's

No wanting to go off topic on the Farmer's Market thread and as this isn't an ED topic I thought I'd start a new thread. Louisa mentioned Kennedy's Sausages and I'm quite fascinated by the company but can't find any details. Here's a company that's been trading for about 150 years, still has at least 5 or 6 shops and trades in a pretty simple and basic product - sausages. Anyone know of the history of the company? I'll probably be shot down and told that the sausages contain all kinds of bad things but they do have a tremendous taste and are the perfect addition to a sausgage sandwich - white bread, butter and brown sauce. ben
