Dear DM,
According to that same supplement, you should have been eating an Eccles cake....

DM - did you see the ballet slipper versions in the ST Style section? -
Hey Mark,
I think that it actually says "0" reasons not to buy but that wonky shot of the Vale and the close up of the 3 red vases has me convinced!
-
The DIY shop is handy - super selection of tiles as well. Not too sure how either the Chinese medicine or the electrical shop survive as they always seem empty. The gas shop have done a couple of jobs for us and I found them reasonably priced and really friendly. Agree with Sean - that clothing / shoe shop is odd
-
i was told that the motor accessories shop was moving into one of the smaller revamped units but surely we need a posh coffee shop at this end of the lane as well;-)
-
There's a similar blackspot on the Goodrich / Lordship Lane junction - cars park outside the church and you can't see the traffic coming up the hill as you are trying to turn right out of Goodrich
-
Offer Mrs DM a packet of Starbucks milk chocolate covered Grahams that had been purchased on a recent trip to New York
Had been saving them for a special treat but placating DM is the number one priority now
Offers Ant the choice of a chilled Tsing Tao, Budvar or Asahi
-
the last pebble bounces straight off of Ant's shin
apologises and tries to explain that he was still a puddle when the pebble left my hand
-
accepts DM's offer of latte, medium with 4 shots please - offers a ?5 note
skims a couple of pebbles across Ant, just to be sociable
-
Thanks Bagpuss for being hospitable and friendly, goes and sits in the Lazy Boy
Ana immediately asks me to move as she hasn't cleaned that part of the room yet
Wanders over to the balcony to take in some of the oft heard about views
-
Having spent most of my time in the Music room I finally pluck up the courage and enter the Quiet room
Reverentially walks past Keef's Lazyboy and nervously mumbles "hello" to all in the room
Sits down on a spare beanbag hoping that it isn't someones favourite seat
Quietly starts to leaf through Mockney's discarded Big Book of Facts
-
Quite superb
-
Something funky to end with
-

-
Mockney,
Hope you don't mind if add a few to the Friday afternoon music mix?
-
20 seconds up the stairs to the office or 40 seconds with a cup of coffee in my hand!

I've Got You Under My Skin - Frank Sinatra, on a looped telephone hold system for the last 15 minutes.
-
-
It's a George Harrison track on the White Album
-
Agreed. The cover is cobblers

These plus my others equal 10 .... or possibly 11
Alone Again Or - Love
Yeah, said it's all right
I won't forget
All the times I've waited patiently for you
And you'll do just what you choose to do
And I will be alone again tonight my dear
Yeah, I heard a funny thing
Somebody said to me
You know that I could be in love with almost everyone
I think that people are
The greatest fun
And I will be alone again tonight my dear
There, There My Dear - Dexy's Midnight Runners
Dear Robin
Hope you dont mind me writing, its just that theres more than one thing I
need to ask you. If youre so anti-fashion, why not wear flares, instead of
dressing down all the same. Its just that looking like that I can express
my dissatisfaction.
Dear Robin
Let me explain, though youd never see in a million years. Keep quoting
Cabaret, Berlin, Burroughs, J.G. Ballard, Duchamp, Beauvoir, Kerouac,
Kierkegaard, Michael Rennie. I dont believe you really like Frank Sinatra.
Dear Robin
Youre always so happy, how the hell do you get your inspiration? Youre
like a dumb patriot. If youre supposed to be so angry, why dont you fight
and let me benefit from your right? Dont you know the only way to change
things is to shoot men who arrange things, Dear Robin
I would explain but youd never see in a million years. Well, youve made
your rules, but we dont know that game, perhaps Id listen to your records
but your logics far too lame and Id only waste three valuable minutes of
my life with your insincerity.
You see Robin, Im just searching for the young soul rebels, and I cant
find them anywhere. Where have you hidden them?
Maybe you should welcome the new soul vision.
Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before - The Smiths
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before
Nothings changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love
I was delayed, I was way-laid
An emergency stop
I smelt the last ten seconds of life
I crashed down on the crossbar
And the pain was enough to make
A shy, bald, buddhist reflect
And plan a mass murder
Who said lied Id to her ?
Oh, who said Id lied because I never ? I never !
Who said Id lied because I never ?
I was detained, I was restrained
And broke my spleen
And broke my knee
(and then he really laced into me)
Friday night in out-patients
Who said Id lied to her ?
Oh, who said Id lied ? - because I never, I never
Who said Id lied ? - because I never
Oh, so I drank one
It became four
And when I fell on the floor ...
...i drank more
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before
Nothings changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love
While My Guitar Gently Weeps - The Beatles
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and I see it need sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know why nobody told you
how to unfold you love
I don't know how someone controlled you
they bought and sold you
I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps
I don't know how you were diverted
you were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
no one alerted you
I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at you all
Still my guitar gently weeps
The Revolutionary Spirit - Wild Swans
Lost in the delta of Venus, lost in a welter of shame
Deep in the forest of evil we embark on the new crusade
Cease your foolish plea we have come to banish the land,
I stand as Saint Sebastian with love for a higher command
And there where hope is dust so strange and absolute
Nestling in sweet sorrow is the saviour of our youth.
All is quiet where angels fear
Oh my blood relations the revolutionary spirit is here.
All is quiet where angels fear
Oh my heir-apparent the revolutionary spirit is here.
Sons defy their fathers; lose their way deep in the mist,
Their hearts like alabaster crack and crumble when they’re kissed
Cease your foolish plea we have come to banish the land,
I stand as Saint Sebastian with love for a higher command
All is quiet where angels fear
Oh my blood relations the revolutionary spirit is here.
All is quiet where angels fear
Oh my heir-apparent the revolutionary spirit is here.
Courage my sad companion mute in silence you’ll find no relief
Faith is the counter-poison; the power compels you to flee from grief.
Bingo Masters Breakout - The Fall
Two swans in front of his eyes
Colored balls in front of his eyes
It's number one for his Kelly's eye
Treble-six right over his eye
A big shot's voice in his ears
Worlds of silence in his ears
All the numbers account for years
Checks the cards through eyes of tears
Bingo-Master's Breakout!
All he sees is the back of chairs
In the mirror, a lack of hairs
A light room, which he fills out
Hear the players all shout
Bingo-Master's Breakout!
A glass of lager in his hand
Silver microphone in his hand
Wasting time in numbers and rhyme
One hundred blank faces buy
Bingo-Master's Breakout!
Came the time he flipped his lid
Came the time he flipped his lid
Holiday in Spain fell through
Players put it down to
Bingo-Master's Breakout
A hall full of cards left unfilled
Ended his life with wine and pills
There's a grave somewhere only partly filled
A sign in a graveyard on a hill reads
Bingo-Master's Breakout
Private Hell - The Jam
Closer than close - you see yourself -
A mirrored image - of what you wanted to be.
As each day goes by - a little more -
You can't remember - what it was you wanted anyway.
The fingers feel the lines - they prod the space -
Your ageing face - the face that once was so beautiful,
is still there but unrecognizable -
Private Hell.
The man who you once loved - is bald and fat -
And seldom in - working late as usual.
Your interest has waned - you feel the strain -
The bed springs snap - on the occasions he lies upon you -
close your eyes and think of nothing but -
Private Hell.
Think of Emma - wonder what she's doing -
Her husband Terry - and your grandchildren.
Think of Edward - who's still at college -
You send him letters - which he doesn't acknowledge.
'Cause he don't care,
They don't care.
'Cause they're all going through their own - Private Hell.
The morning slips away - in a valium haze,
And catalogues - and numerous cups of coffee.
In the afternoon - the weekly food,
Is put in bags - as you float off down the high street
The shop windows reflect - play a nameless host,
To a closet ghost - a picture of your fantasy -
A victim of your misery - and Private Hell
Alone at 6 o'clock - you drop a cup -
You see it smash - inside you crack -
You can't go on - but you sweep it up -
Safe at last inside your Private Hell.
Sanity at last inside your Private Hell.
So You Say You Lost Your Baby - Gene Clark
Well you're smolderin' with fly words,
Catch the moment on the run.
And you say there's nothin' easy
About the plywood tract you're from.
And you stand inside your wind stilts;
Watch the sentence act begun.
So you say you lost your baby
Do you know that your the one.
With the stand to watch the trials go, from here to there behind the scene.
Throw your troubles to the moon trolls
To swallow up like stormy dreams.
Take an entrance to a stand-off,
Looking if there's such a strife
And you say you lost your baby, wondering if its in your life.
Well you fly your banners Mondays, that take a rise and fall in one.
Ask the questions of the pilgrims,
As they come to pledge what's done.
Claim a tabernacle hillside where you'll sight the dyin' sun
So you say you lost your baby, don't you know that you're the one.
So you say you lost your baby, Do you know that you're the one.

I know it's in the village but anyone know about the house that's being built right next to the college gates - it can be seen from the park on the right hand side as you get towards the lake.
Maybe there is a Dulwich Village forum that can answer SE21 questions?
