  1. It's not anything to do with being too young or old just didn't particularly think that 18-19 Yr olds would really want to be hanging around with a 25 Yr old and same for 30 and over...
  2. hi guys and girls, most of you have probably seen me posting on for hair dressing services etc.. Im 25 and have been in east dulwich for around 5 months now but really struggling to meet people. I work north of the river and dont particularly want to mix work and social lifes anyway. ive seen lots of fashionable cool looking young people around east dulwich and peckham mainly around the victoria inn but am just so petrified of going it alone to meet people.... looking to meet local 20 - 28 yr olds still up for it and going out and about locally so any friendly locals looking to expand there friendship circles drop me a line! jason
  3. this is the shampoo and conditioner this is the anti snap leave in treatment and this is the weekly treatment this is allthe best stuff i know of the entire range is to strengthen the hair and to put protien and keratin back into the hair...... and ebay is pretty cheap, seems an expensive outlaybut great stuff.... hope this is of some use to you.. if youd like anymore advise dont hesitat to contact me jason
  4. as a hairdresser i do see this allot and don't worry too much as you have read and been advised it is very common... I know this isn't making you feel at ease with the situation but what i can suggest is that you perhaps buy your self some protein treatment.. i would heavily recommend REDKEN extreme range, try the shampoo, the anti snap spray and also the intense treatment that comes with it... it will make your a hair a little stronger and should lessen the amount of hair you are loosing as it will be stronger.... jason

  6. so... nearly a month later and still no reply from admin! i put a new fresh advertisment up which states all new needed info for potential and old clients which i got a couple of nice comments onand admin deletes it! how charming they can delete a new thread but cant reply to my mail about paying for advertisment and sponsering the forum!!!!! yet "macca" or what ever her name is nanny / hairdresser can post up 6 seperate hair advertisments in various forum sections and they remain on the forum! is this sexist or what! all mine get deleted other than my original "one" anitial advertisment! the running reccomendation was not originally posted myself so cant count!..... 7. barry road barbers: i think u may have over read my reply there and not read from the angle i was coming from...... im very sorry if i offended u as it was'nt my intention and certainly didnt mention any barber shops let alone put any down! i was reffering to them in general as per mine and everyone else i knows experiences..... ive only ever come across one barber who pleased my needs and he now works with me and was retrained adding his barbering skills to his hairdressing and he is phenominal.... but all his creativity and blending skills came from barbering so i certainly would never bad mouth a barber which is why i also said "they are blooming good at there job" but pherhaps my description in the difference between a barber and a hairdresser was a little outdated and was only my own personal view from my experience from going to barber shops..... my reply was aimed at mic macks " dont go to a stylist unless u is a gal" implying that stylist's "hairdressers" only do girls hair or did you not read that part? it was nothing to do with barber shops nor barry road barbers i was simply replying to what he'd said about stylist's "hairdressers" also the product part was reffering to the end product "result" not actual product used........ i actually think barbers use better products for men than most hairdressers do my favourite being fudge and bed head...... i know theres lots of bad reviews from hairdressers too as i know theres too many bad ones probably more than barbers, but you seem to be a very well respected and sought after barbers in the area... i appologies my offensive difference explanation
  8. LOL @ the pictures.... jamesm..... just go back and ask them to cut in to it, often a mistake made by lesser experienced staff not recognising the fact u need it done! its all down to the consultation...but also your responsibility to make sure the stylist knows you wanted it thinned out.... currently thickness and texture is "very in" but of course its an individual taste also.... but im sure they will have no problems doing it for you, and actually pherhaps give the stylist that cut it the opportunity to actually finish or correct it as it may have just been bad communication not the skill..... MSB: "I've often made the same mistake myself. As a rule, if they're available for a walk-in appointment, it's not a good sign."..... THAT IS VERY INCORRECT..... very often a stylist might be new to a salon no matter their level they will be available for walk in appointments........ salons these days are not fully booked and walkin appointments are readily available it has nothing to do with being a bad sign..... i myself am a top stylist working for the british hairdresser of the yr and i have usually have a quarter of a day free i am available for walk in appointments..... its how you build up a clientel...... MICKMAC...... there is a difference between a hairdresser and a barber..... clippers being the obvious.... but...... if u want a simple short back and sides, a flat top or an all over grade or indeed a skin fade a barbers is ur best bet.... hairdressers are more fashion orientated and more about layers, shape, personalisiation, suitability, fashion etc etc, alot more complex and usually if you go to a barber for a fashionable cut and go toa "good hairdresser" you will notice the difference.... and thats not to put barbers down because they are blooming good at what they do, its just there is quite a difference in the service and product u recieve..... p.s.... i do mens for ?20 and come to u after 8pm
  9. Funnily enough I did, I thought that " email the forum" would be the appropriate channel.... Clearly my target audience is in my local area thus trying to get the admins attention seeing other attempts have failed.
  10. they said to me all future business adds to do with hairdressing would be removed and how i was not able to use the advertising free anymore......... so i tryied to find out details on paid advertising and they dont even get back to me! i think i sent the first email about 2 months ago when an admin got funny for me posting my new times i was available which clients wanted to know! atleast im not the only one! maybe i should make a new advertisement for hair and they will spot it and respond to me! lol
  11. i have sent private emails on 2 or 3 seperate occassions the latest being about 2 weeks ago requesting details and prices for advertising/ sponsor.... as i would loke to advertise my part time home hairdressing business I have emailed [email protected], and also on here I have private messaged the admin account..... please can someone get back to me please..... many thanks jason [email protected]
  12. my best advise would be to do an apprentiship, i really dont believe colleges teach very well. I know the one I went to was awfull but I only went on day release to get my NVQ2 so it wasnt a problem as I was trained in house by the salon and qualified in 8 months as appossed to 2 yrs. apprentiships are much better you get far more training, on the job experience as was well as getting the chance to watch other qualified hairdressers in action which is a great chance to learn. and also you get paid. just look at salon windows for signs looking for apprentices... alternatively check out these hair recruitment sites: hair 2 beauty hair recruitment hairdressers journal
  13. might be nothing and i am not making any accusations....... but today i was dropping business cards round the dawsons height, ladlands and bredinghurst and noticed what an amazing design of building it was by using the stairs.... what i also noticed was the balconys of one or 2 particular flats which are out the back of the flats but not visible by the public below have a good 6-10ok looking bikes crammed out there! i did think to myself,,,, i wonder if my bikes there of they are all stolen! but assumtion is a mother!! just found it interesting why someone would have so many mountain bikes, maybe theres 3 members of family with 2 bikes EACH! worth a mention i thought! had mine stolen a few months back..... but only would have gotten ?80-?100 for it as i was actually trying to sell it so didnt bother reporting it!
  14. ive been using the forum to get quite alot of business doing mobile hairdressing.... but i constantly come up with new ideas and deals! how ever admin always deletes posts of business as you are only allowed to post ONCE for a business. (td) can you pay to have business advertisment that reaches all forum members and stays up the top that can be continually updated? if so how much is it? thanks
  15. huncamunca ...........thanksman! do u by any chance do all this kind of stuff yourself? if so fancy making some dolar! lol i sussed out why over heating.... had an airlock in the cooling system, sorted it and now running correct temp, still running a tad lumpy low revs so spark plugs etc next i guess..... i need to get tthe heater matrix as its got a small leak, but enough to send some steam into the car and a wee puddle on the floor after its done its peeing lol.... that involves the dashboard coming off which garages charge around ?300 +for, anyone know of any home mechanics that might do it for me cheaper? thanks for help guys!
  16. yeah im going to do the radiator.. as soon as i can get the bugger started! blooming starter motor has decided not to work now! lol oh the joys!
  17. hi peeps... wondered if theres any car enthusiasts or mechanics amungst us that can advise me! ive just bought a peugeot 306 gti.... i bought it and had to collect it from northampton, aparently it's been layed up for about 6 months so warmed it up for a while and drove it very gently on the way home... seemed a little lumpy on low revs but absoloutly fine when picked up in revs, also running a little hot, sadly it was a little dark and was not able to have a good proper look around the engine although looks very nice and clean. it got me back to london after a 2 hr drive and managed not to overheat too much but was still running a temperature of around 110 instead of 90.... car drove fine just a little lumpy on low revs and the being a little hotter than normal.. other than booking it in for a service when i will do when i have the cash can anyone advise anything i can do or should do to help clear out the engine... i was thinking of buying some of that nitro u put in a full tank of petrol which is supposed to clearout the engine! does this stuff actualy work? or does it sound a little more serious! any good advice welcomed! thanks
  18. #1: it was in private grounds were there were NO CHILDREN #2: it was not shoved in any childrens faces...... so no children were corrupted....unless theres any kids on here which i highly doubt! seems to be all over 18's..... but even if there were there was clear warning!its someones own decision to clickon a link saying "sexual"its quite clear its not going to be clean!
  19. It's in a public park you daft twit. !!!! which public park was this then? actually it was in private grounds were only adults play!
  20. to be fair the post before the link was bit of a warning! "sexual" might give it away slightly! if ur son or daughter searches simple non sexual words on google ur very often end up in porn links! if this was a site for KIDS imight have slight concern but seeing most if not all are adults im not particularly fussed! some people are obviously too sensative! those people need to lock themselves up in a padded room and wrap them selves in cotton wool for the world is a horrible SEXUALLY infested place! lol most advertising is sexual! get a grip! crikey! do people like this really exist or am i actually in some sort of wierd dream/ nightmare! i refer to earlier posts! lol hahahahahaha
  21. I have to say though that one of the snow angle with the cape whoops mine that is AMAZING... Whoever did that u really a true artist (tu)
  22. hAhahaha.... I want the snow to come back for more karma sutra positions lol
  23. WARNING!!! SEXUALY EXPLISIT SNOWMEN AHEAD!!!!! DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED OR A PRUDE WITHOUT A SENSE OF HUMOUR!!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!!!
  24. its a nice area! the blocks look daunting but i find it quite pleseant enough... you have your own basketball court and great views of london in the dark when it all lights up well i do at the front anyway lol...... if only 5 trees would dissapear over night that blur my nearly clear amazing view!... does anyone know how to suttley quickly KILL 5 large trees!! fast tree eating termites pherhaps! lol couple of crazy people around but they keep themselves to themselves generally and you WILL regulaly smell herbals being smoked! ive been offered 5 times allready as i walked past! lol no actuall trouble atall in the 3 months ive been on the estate and they keep it pretty clean too.. how ever dont leave your bikes if you have any locked outside your house or on any pillars! they wont stay there for long as i found out!! other that great area! welcome, and if you need a hairdresser give me a shout!(tu)
  25. even if u empty ur fuel tank they will still cut the pipe in an attempt to steal it and still ulhave to replace it so not much point going to the effort just to save ur fuel, because even if they dont steal it but still cut ur pipe ull loose it when u put the fuel back in anyway.... im not very up on stealing petrol from bikes but im pretty sure its the lowest of the low thing to do u have to be REALLY desperate to steal a couple of quids worth at a time.... as for cars, its generally OLD cars that get there fuel pipes cut to steal fuel as there is very easy access normally by the rear wheel arch on the petrolcap side..... to resolve this u could weld a piece of metal over the acess point.... most new cars have this done already...... i know this because i had friends that worked in scrap yards and i used to go in for free fuel..... lol i cant say there is really a soloution other than getting the police patrolling more but that would require every theft to be reported to get them to take action.... sorry for ur losses....
