  1. Sounds silly but have you tried just giving her her own spoon to hold? My 13 month old went through this at about the same age but now she has her own spoon at every meal so she "feeds herself" (and actually does occasionally even get some in her mouth!) whilst I do the real feeding!
  2. Thanks for the advice everyone, it's been really useful. I think for now we're going to delay it and not rush into making a rash decision, it seems there's lots more googling to be done! Wishing you all a merry christmas x
  3. Hi, We've used formula for the last year with our little one and always done it the same way - Boil the kettle and wait 20-30 mins - Pour water into bottles, add formula, shake then place in a sink full of cold water to chill for 10 minutes - Place into the back of fridge - When needed remove 1, if baby prefers hot (ours did for quite a few months) place bottle in tub full of boiling water As this link explains, the water needs to be above 70 degrees to stop bacteria breeding, if you look under the "transporting a feed" section though it also describes the same procedure above http://www.dh.gov.uk/prod_consum_dh/groups/dh_digitalassets/documents/digitalasset/dh_124526.pdf. Hope that helps, I remember going to great trouble trying to figure out which advice to take at the time as everyone says different things but this way has always worked for us. Merry xmas!
  4. My little one is due her 12 month old MMR vaccine next week, I'm really unsure about giving it to her though. Just wondered what other people's opinions were on this? How easy is it to get them done separately? Anyone know of any places around here? Also wondering whether our private medical insurance would cover it? Thanks in advance!
  5. Anyone know if there's any free parking on the streets around Peckham Rye Train Station? I'm hoping to park around there then catch the train to Victoria weekdays.. Thanks
  6. Good to see everyone, we're having a "quiet day" too! See you next time x
  7. Now the nights are closing in and Dulwich park closes earlier and earlier, my fitness levels are rapidly decreasing! Where do people jog in the winter? Is it "safe" around Peckham Rye Common for a lone female, I'm not talking too late - probably around 6pm ish. Or maybe just a run around the streets circulating Dulwich Park?
  8. We'll come, been meaning to try out that cafe too and Brockwell Park is lovely for a walk afterwards, great views! Emma and Lily x
  9. Eating's cheating! (we're not bringing little ones to this are we?!)
  10. Hi all, Am I right in thinking there's a soft play type group at the EDT on Fridays? I think it stopped for summer hols, has it started up again now? What time's it on and is it any good? Suitable for a 10 month old? Thanks!
  11. oops sorry I meant the number 12, baby brained myself back to North London!
  12. The 73 bus goes all the way there and might be the easiest if you don't fancy lots of changes (tho probably not the quickest)
  13. I thought we could take it in turns to host at our homes maybe?
  14. I'm starting to have this problem too with my crawling 7 month old, maybe it would be nice to set up a "tea group" which people can take turns to host whilst the little ones crawl around, anyone interested?
  15. Hi, We've just been to visit this nursery too, it seems lovely although was wondering if charging a months fees as a holding deposit followed by another months fees on the first day the child starts is standard practice? Seems a lot of money upfront..
  16. I can't recommend the Claire Nasir Bootcamp DVD enough - absolutely brilliant! I lost 4 pounds the first week I did it and it was actual inches off the thighs! I've just started running again but I actually think I prefer doing the DVD - it's interval training and seems to make me feel better afterwards than even a good old fashioned run!
  17. I'm not using CC on her at the mo - think she's still a bit young. Also suspect she's building up to needing weaning so may be waking up hungry due to that - I'll go with the flow for now, see what tonight brings!
  18. Yes I was wondering if I should have woken her from the lunchtime nap but was so amazed that it was actually happening! Will see how it goes tonight, I also thought it may have just been a bad night or the start of signals to start weaning, sleep regression etc. I'm hoping for 2 hours this lunchtime so I can grab some Z's too but bet I've jinxed it now!
  19. Hiya, Thought I'd give a (hopefully not too longwinded) update. So a couple of nights ago I put LO to bed at 615, she slept till 5, had a quick bottle then back to sleep again till 7. That day she had a nap around 9 for 45 minutes, then I put her down at midday and she had 2.5 hours (thank you white noise!) We then went out and she had an accidental nap at 5pm in the pram for half an hour as that was the time I was coming home. She went to bed at 7pm last night and had the worst night in a long time! Woke at midnight for a feed, then 3am - I left her for 10 mins but she wasn't settling herself so gave another half bottle which did settle her but I could still hear her awake till about 430ish! Then woke again at 645 this morning - aaaah! Is it because of the 5pm nap do you think? I'll persevere for a few more days and see what happens, so tempting to just go back to the tried and tested routine though!
