  2. Deluxe premium leather version. Barely used; in excellent condition. A beautiful, very comfy and stylish chair. Collection only, from SE22. £900 I can send more photos if you'd like.
  3. Hi Nicole Have a look at the East Dulwich Free School Uniform page on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100085388803715 I don’t think there are any coats at the moment but there is general school uniform; anything that doesn’t say ‘gone’ is still available.
  4. Have a look at this page too. It’s a free school uniform exchange. I know that there are some trousers and shirts that could be the right size that we have available for free at the moment. https://www.facebook.com/East-Dulwich-Free-School-Uniform-105214372331553/ I post updates whenever people donate more clothes so do keep checking 😊
  5. Hello, I've just set up a free school uniform exchange to try to help with the cost of living situation as well as reducing landfill. If anyone has any school uniform to donate (also shoes, football boots etc), please send me a DM for drop off address. Also if people could like the Facebook page that would be great to spread the word. https://www.facebook.com/East-Dulwich-Free-School-Uniform-105214372331553/ Thanks 😊
  6. We have rubble from a garden path and small building works as well as the remains of a garden shed that need removing from our garden. Access through the side return. Anyone know of someone who would do this? Thanks.
  7. Paul and his van happened to be outside my house when I needed loads of boxes clearing away - he was very efficient, polite and friendly snd gave me a good price. Will definitely use again.
  8. Hi Julie, my sister in law would be able to help you, and she lives near Henley. This is exactly the kind of event she does. You can look her up on her website, https://www.jennyfayjazz.com/ Feel free to send me a DM if you?d like more info. Alice
  9. I would like to appeal to dog owners to stick to the rules about where dogs can be off the lead in Dulwich park. The path around the perimeter is where dogs can be let off the lead, but there are clear signs around most of the rest of the park indicating that dogs should be kept on a short lead. I walk in the park with my toddler and baby most days, and almost every time we are accosted by dogs off the lead where they shouldn?t be. This morning a dog jumped up into my toddler?s face which was terrifying for him, but sadly not the first time this has happened. I asked the owner to put their dog on a lead but they walked away without doing so. The park is for everyone to enjoy and so I would like to plead with people with dogs to abide by the rules. My toddler has been jumped up on several times and now is starting to be afraid of dogs. Thank you for taking the time to read.
  10. Hello Does anyone have a recommendation for a flooring expert? We have taken our lino floor up to discover that the square wood chip tiles beneath have been glued over. We?d like to get them restored in keeping with the rest of the house. Any ideas for someone who can help us? Thanks
  11. Hello, I'm also due at the beginning of December, first baby, and would love to meet up with others.
  12. I found Steve and Nichola through the EDF. They've just sanded my kitchen and sitting room floors, including leveling the floor between the two rooms. They did a fantastic job - really efficient and cleaned up exceptionally well at the end. I am really happy with the end result, which looks totally different from the grubby old boards they were presented with. Their price was very reasonable too. I would definitely recommend them.
  13. I also highly recommend Matthew and his team; one of his men did an excellent job of painting and making good a few things I'd messed up. The job was done to a very high quality, he cleared up beautifully and I was very happy. Better than other people I have used recently in terms of end result - I have only praise.
  14. If anyone has a spare room and is interested in helping out you could consider volunteering for London Nightstop. It's a charity supporting young people facing homelessness; they place people aged 16-25 with hosts for one night only while they find them a more sustainable solution for them. The young person might stay with different hosts for a couple of weeks, but it keeps them off the streets. It's not for people who have been homeless for a long time. I have been a volunteer for around 3 years and have certainly had refugees and asylum seekers as well as other young people who are in need staying with me. I know that there have been some Syrian young people being placed in the past few months. There is a very good process of vetting volunteers and young people too and I have never felt threatened - I really love it. You just need a spare room and the ability to cook a hot meal. And some love and flexibility :-) It is also a very flexible and quite robust system - you just sign up for the nights you know you're free; I only have young women staying with me, and there is 24 hour support provided in case you need it (I never have). If anyone wants more information feel free to get in touch with me. The website is here: http://www.depauluk.org/projects/nightstop-london/
  15. My brother has recently become disabled and has been advised to use a recumbent exercise bike as part of his rehab. Does anyone have any experience of them? What's good and what's not in terms of different models? Thanks very much.....
  16. He could get involved with Save the Children's Den Day, coming up - see link: http://denday.savethechildren.org.uk/

So sorry to hear this Clare. You can call London Nightstop on 020 7939 1237. see their website here: http://www.depauluk.org/projects/nightstop-london/ They have volunteers who have people in exactly your kind of situation to stay in their homes and should be able to sort you out with somewhere straight away. Hope that helps and that you get back on your feet soon.
  18. Hi Kittenheels, I have a similar problem - rain coming in through the walls under one of the windows. Am going to get a builder to look at it - any recommendations gratefully received from you or others. Will let you know how I get on!
  19. It's going to be a Save the Children shop.
  20. At the Artists' Open House I saw some gorgeous vases made from strips of different street signs in ED. I've scoured the programme from Dulwich Festival 2013 and can't find them, also can't remember which house they were in. I would really like to buy one now as a present. Does anyone happen to know who the artist is and how I can get in touch? many thanks
  21. Thanks everyone so much; very much appreciated. I did try to post a good quality photo but as it was good quality it was too big. Sue I love it that you had a look :-) I am hoping the roots won't be a problem too......
  22. thanks David - do these help? Alice
  23. Hi Can anyone tell me what species the trees are on Upland Road? I mean the ones on the pavement opposite the old Dulwich Music Shop and the new jeweller, at the Northcross Road end. I need to know for insurance purposes; am not very good with tree species and can't get the Southwark Council Tree Preservation people to answer the phone. Thanks Alice
  24. I found Clive and Grant on the Forum - recommended by lots of people - want to add that they were great for me too - did a great job (spotlights on a high ceiling, fitted wall lights, a new socket and upgraded the MCBs) - very good job, am happy with quality, they were competitively priced, friendly and I will definitely use their services again.
