  1. I developed the same pain about 6months into pregnancy and was finding it hard to walk and sit. Daniel Harvey of Dulwich Chiropratic on Crystal Palace Road helped me enormously. He has been treating women in pregnancy for 20years and I felt really safe under his care. During pregnancy the joints in the lower back begin to open up and can very easily 'slip'. The treatment was mix of gentle manpulation (which didn't hurt at all) and deep tissue massage to sooth the irritated muscles. When my back was strained by the labour and delivery Daniel knew exactly how to treat it and helped make my first weeks with a newborn much more bearable. Good luck and hope you find some relief for your pain.
  2. I'd certainly be interested in this course too and 2 places if at weekend. Do let us know if we should send a PM about this instead. Elizabeth
  3. Hello Checkmeout and the other mums! Hope this isn't hijacking this thread but I wonder if anyone would be interested in this: My sister won an online competition to have a dietician (sponsored by SMA baby formula but I'm sure a professional dietician has to be impartial and talk about 'food' right?) come to my home to ask questions from Mums about weaning and nutrition for babies/toddlers. I'm about to start maternity leave with my first baby and hope to have the dietician come sometime before the beginning of Aug, prob an afternon. I'm happy to have Mums (including babies+toddlers) round to glean info from the dietician. It occured to me that weaning can be a tricky time if little one fussy or has allergies. Aparently they bring us a free lunch and throw in some freebies too though I've no idea what, its my sister that's the competition addict, I just benefit from her winnings sometimes!! Do send me a PM if you're interested and I'll be in touch once they've let me have some possible dates. Elizabeth
  4. My sister has just won an online ecompetition with SMA for a session with a 'baby expert' (in the form of a Dietician I think) who will come to my home in early Sept (my baby due 4th Sept so hope this happens beforehand or I won't be hosting it at mine!) to offer 'expert' information and one-to-one advice. I'm planning to breastfeed exclusively but there may be something interesting to learn about weaning eventually etc for new mums. The session is open to up to 9 mums and I wonder if any Summer/Autumn Babies mums/mums-to-be would be interested in joining me for this free event? Send me a PM with your contact details if you're interested and I'll let you know when they contact me with the planned date. Take Care, Elizabeth
