  1. I also used Andy after seeing him recommended on the EDF for a broken toilet. He came the same day & fitted the part a couple of days later, even on the weekend! Will definitely use him again if needed.
  2. I have a wooden chair which is completely split down the backrest that needs fixing. Please see photo. Please let me know if you can help or if you need to see the chair. Thanks Emma
  3. We have several maintenance jobs of varying sizes that we need doing to our house. We are ideally looking for a company who could do all the jobs. We have a small corner of damp in our kitchen which needs investigating. There is some damp in our 2nd floor shower room that needs investigating. We have a leak in the shower room, this has occurred previously & was resolved by resealing the floor. The leak from the shower room is leaking into our bathroom, this hasn?t been fixed from the previous leak so needs to be made good once the leak is fixed. We need an electrician to fix a tv point for a wall mounted tv & to fix a charging point for a vacuum cleaner. We have a towel holder that needs fixing to the wall - this has been put on previously & come off so that area of the wall needs making good as well. We have 2 folding kitchen cabinet doors that are push up/pull down ones that are supposed to soft close, but don?t anymore that we would like to be looked at. We have a floor thermostat in the shower room that has never really worked properly that we would also like looked at. The biggest job we have is painting the front window sills of the house. If you would like to come & look at these jobs please PM me. Emma .
  4. I know there have been threads about this previously, but not recently. My partner needs his suit altering - trousers shortening, sleeves shortening - before our wedding. I'm looking for recommendations as we've not used anyone for jacket alterations before. Thanks Emma
  5. We are starting out on the exciting (scary?) process of extending into our side return & getting a new kitchen. Neither me or my partner have done anything like this before & we're a little unsure if we are best getting an architect/design company to draw up the plans first & then put those out to tender, or whether to just go with builders from the off? Any advice on the pros & cons of these options and/or recommendations for architects would be gratefully received. Thanks Emma
  6. Another recommendation for Russell. He did hid best to fix our roof a couple of years ago just using a ladder but unfortunately it needed more work with scaffolding etc. He arranged everything & fitted a new skylight while he was up there. He gave us a competitive price.
  7. We are just starting out on the process of extending our kitchen into the side return. We've had a quote from a builder, one from an architectural/design company & another from Build Team - which is competitive. I'm just wondering if anyone has used them for any projects & if they were happy with their work? Thanks Emma
  8. I can also recommend Francis, he fitted a new outside tap for us quickly & efficiently. His no is 07552 347157.
  9. I contacted Danny after seeing these posts today, when our boiler suddenly stopped working. He sent an engineer round within an hour who quickly fixed the problem. I would use him again. 07879 220447
  10. Hi, we can do the afternoon of the 13th & the 17th & 24th are both good for me too - I'm happy with either, so whenever suits the most of us. The baby has strict instructions about not arriving before its due date - after all we have tickets for Wimbledon! It felt quite strange going on maternity leave this time, not a big deal like it was last time, I guess because I just swan in for my 2 days & then disappear for another 5 days... Looking forward to catching up soon Em
  11. I was planning on eating as I definitely won't have time before x
  12. We went to Rhodes with Mark Warner last Sept, I know the resort there is open until Nov. it's a purpose built resort for MW & it was my first experience of that kind of all-inclusive holiday so i was a little worried how it would be but we had a great time. The childcare was great with evening childcare included so you can have dinner as a couple & my son loved the playground (he was 21 months at the time but great for older kids too).
  13. The Bishop is good for me too, it should be reasonably quiet on a Tuesday evening... What kind of. Time is good for everyone? I can make sure my partner is home by 7.30 so anytime from then is good for me. Em x
  14. Quite right Sophie, I remember a friend telling me off before I had Dexter for saying her husband was babysitting - Daddy's don't babysit!
  15. Great idea, I was thinking it was getting a little confusing! I'm happy with first Friday of the month, but can't make the 4th April - I'm starting potty training Dex that day, so I shall be inside all day with a naked toddler watching like a hawk for signs of peeing... How about an evening meet up? Maybe one of the many curry houses along Lordship Lane, or pizza at the Gowlett or the Actress - so many choices! Any night is good for me really, I just need to make sure my partner is home in time. How is Tuesday 8th April? I'll have had 5 days of potty training by then so I'll need a break but am open to other dates. Emma x
  16. Tomorrow is good for me too, we'll probably be nearer 3.30 by the time I get Dex up from his nap & get us there, but we'll come! Emma
  17. Earlier I was going to say Dexter & I are up for tmrw still, but during today we both seem to have developed lovely colds, complete with snotty noses so I think we should give it a miss as well to avoid spreading our germs around. We're around in a couple of weeks though & should be germfree by then! Hopefully I'm around on the 23rd but not sure yet. Hope to see people soon, Emma
  18. Hi, I should be able to make Sunday. I can also do Fridays with my little one as well, we're around on the 7th if other people are free. Emma
  19. I can make this Sunday too, 11 at le Chandelier sounds good to me. I'll leave my son at home with his Dad. Emma
  20. Hi, My second is due at the end of June, my first will be 2 & a half by then but still wondering how people manage with 2! I'd love to meet up too. Emma x
  21. I used Fernando for the first time yesterday following recommendations on here, he was punctual, hard working & left a lovely tidy garden behind him. I'll be using him again in the future.
