  1. I must say that Laura offers a truly fantastic service! She has turned our garden around and did it in record time! I cannot recommend her enough. We didn't even want to go out there it was so overgrown but she cleared it and even though it isn't warm yet, we cannot stop looking out the window and gazing at how great it looks! Thank you, Laura!
  2. We need a tidy up in the garden and looking for clearance and removal in SE15. No gardening required - just clearance. Please reply/pm me contact details. Thanks.
  3. I need an entertainer for a 2 year old birthday party. He loves anything music related so I am thinking someone who will bring a guitar and do a 30 minute sing-along? Any suggestions?
  4. For anyone who wants to keep Cheeky C's on Monday going: Tomorrow they are running a session and asking people to commit to the next 5 weeks. I believe they are worried that there won't be enough people to make it worth their time running sessions on Mondays during the summer so please go if you want to keep it as an option for your little one for Monday mornings!!! If you've not been- Cheeky C's is an excellent playgroup held in the little shack-like building behind JAGS for 0 to 4 year olds. They have a great space and offer great coffees, teas and snacks. See you there!
  5. We live at the top of Ivydale just by Athenlay and have an 18 month old. There is a church on the corner which has a nursery- directly across the street from you. I can't believe I cannot think of the name of it but we put our little boy's name down to start in January. It seems like a great place and I really like the head. Heard great things about Colourbox and Puddleducks as well. I wasn't mad on Asquith. Not sure why just got an odd feeling from it.
  6. Monday session of Cheeky C's (at the shack-type building next to JAGS) is stopping for the summer. I am desperate to keep it going bc I need a Monday activity for my 17 mo old and want to see if others are interested in signing up for a summer drop in session. We need about 15 to 20 people in order for Annabelle to run it. Interests? This place is the best for little ones as the parents can have a coffee and kids cannot wander off!
  7. I had the truffled mushrooms. They were fabulous. They didn't get bent out of shape by two adults asking to have breakfast with a one year old - unlike Green and Blue RIP. Hello? Look around- there are just a few kids in the area with parents who spend money!!
  8. We went to a fun 40th this past weekend at the Draft House on Lordship Lane. We had the middle/back area and it was great. Also I heard Boho Bar on LL has a downstairs that can be reserved and no one is ever there so you get the whole place to yourself.
  9. Winkworth are horrible. They sell multiple properties at the same time and just don't have the time for you as a seller. Pickwick agents were lovely. Bushells as well- positive. We bought with KFH in Peckham and I loved Mark- bc he was always upfront and honest with me.
  10. Bless your heart. I am in the process of filling out the paperwork but I have heard it is no biggie so don't stress. You will be fine.... and if they are mean, just tell them you are in labour and going to have that baby during the interview so they need to wrap it up.
  11. I have a gym appt which normally I would skip but have thrown out my back which means I have to rehab it at the gym per doctor's orders SO I will be a little late- probably more like 10:30 but hope to catch up with whoever is there! Looking forward to it!
  12. Just waiting for little Huxley to wake up. He had a difficult night and was up every 2 hours but we are all packed and ready to go as soon as he stirs! See you guys soon! I have on an embarrassing Texas tshirt. Meredith
  13. I can second Smiler re: Chiselhurst. My husband is from Sidcup, went to Chis and Sid grammar and still talks about moving back to the area for more space, bigger house and better schools. I point out that there is a reason why the places are cheaper. If you are anything but white- people have no problem revealing their ignorant views and it is not a place where I'd like my son to grow up. I lived there for 4 years and heard people speak about London as if it were some far off, dirty place full of immigrants which irritated the hell out of me. Thanks but no thanks.
  14. Hello American mommas, Looking forward to seeing whomever can make it tomorrow to Peckham Rye cafe at 2. Fingers crossed the weather is not disgusting. I will bring my embarrassing american flag and drape it on my pram so we can look out for each other! Meredith
  15. Hi Ladies, Shall we meet up on Friday, the 20th? Could I propose the cafe at Peckham Rye? Huxley and I have baby yoga at 11 so we couldn't meet up until he wakes from his nap at 2. Would 2 or 2:15-ish work for anyone?
  16. Let's hear it for the American mums! I am on my 6th year in London. Originally from Fort Worth and then Los Angeles. I have a 6 month old and would love to plan a get together. We are on Maxted off of Bellenden Road. Looks like Fridays work for most. Shall I throw out a date of July 20th as a proposed date to meet up? Would the 27th work better? Which park works better for everyone? Peckham Rye cafe or Dulwich cafe? I ordered an american flag for our 4th of July party so I can be brave and put it on one of the tables to signify A MEETING OF THE AMERICAN MUMS! Huxley (6 month old) and I can do either date and park. Meredith x
  17. I had one of my window boxes stolen on Tuesday evening on Copleston Road. Has anyone seen it? It is made of grey tin and contains big red flowers and it is infuriating because they aren't even mine, they are my landlords! I have no idea where to go to replace the stolen one and who the hell steals window boxes?! If anyone saw anything, please let me know!
