  1. Thanks Edmummy. No I don't really need to go privately but that all depends on the GP. My last GP didn't really have anything to say as baby was gaining weight etc etc, oh its just colic and will pass, so I had to take things into my own hands. I've asked my old consultant to recommend someone locally and I'm waiting to hear....in the meantime I'm waiting to register with a GP as I don't have 2 proofs of address yet (just moved here)! Crazy and frustrating that they won't register me - all the bills are in my husbands name :)
  2. Hi can anyone recommend a gastro paediatrican (who does private work) for my little man who has silent reflux, ideally at Kings (as its closest)? I've just moved down and was seeing a great guy at the Royal Free Hampstead but its too far for me to travel with two tots on the bus. Many thanks x
  3. I got a letter last week from the council saying you can chuck it all in together now
  4. Is everyone referring to St Francis Park? I walked past it today on my way to Sainsburys and peered in kind of hoping to see lots of rats, but no joy :). Opposite, on the railings of Sainsburys car park, I noticed a banner advertising some event to take place in the next few weeks - can't remember what it was called (trying to keep kids from screaming)...I did notice the words bouncy castle and food. I thought it might be fun for the kids, but then realised it might be hosted in RAT PARK (please correct me if wrong!) and had other ideas...although I did always love 'smack the rat' game at fetes.
  5. Haha Poppy I've used a calculator in the past for distraction....needs must and all that. Oh keys are good too.
  6. I'm in the same position but just don't have the time to do it. I managed to do a Sainsburys bag full of socks the other day and that's my lot before one is crying or needs feeding or changing etc etc. The next thing is to keep moths at bay - we had a load in our old house and it was horrible, they chewed through a lovely coat of mine which I was too fat for but had hoped one day I would be able to wear again....HA!
  7. Another vote for the BT monitor. I got the Beaba Call for my first and by comparison its rubbish. I wish I'd bought the BT one first.
  8. Haha we've just moved to the area and I noticed it the first night and every night since....around 8 o clock - so odd! It's kind of funny, but also annoying as I just get the kids down and it blares around the corner. (we moved here to get more peace as we were previously on a main road!!). I thought it was just local to a few streets around here, but maybe not, depending on where you guys are. I wonder what its route is? OH thinks its dodgy. I just want it turned down a notch :)
  9. Hi there, I'm new in town and slowly getting to grips with the various groups, meets, parks etc. My toddler (2 next month) is a bit of a loony (most are I know), but I'd be very grateful for any pointers on groups/places where I can let her run riot in safety, but also hang on to my 5 month old. I went to bumps & babes on Monday and it was nice but my toddler was bored to tears (sorry!), she was trying to open doors and prefers a bit more space and more toys like buggies/kitchens etc rather than playmats for the little ones. Next on my list to try is the Surestart at Rye Oak....libraries tend to be out as she does everything except read books and playgrounds can be tricky as she's off trying to climb 'up' slides while I'm chasing after her with baby in pushchair. I guess I'm not asking for too much! What about 'more than one' groups/meets - are there any in ED? Or classes for babies where toddlers are welcome or vice versa. Be lovely to hook up with any other mums with two under 2 or thereabouts...Thanks!
