  1. Just used this new local duo to fit the most amazing glass splash backs in our new kitchen. They have also given me an excellent price to renew my sash windows. Quick, efficient and cleaned up after themselves! Great job all round
  2. Thank you so much for taking the time to help. It is much appreciated, I am going to try the soaking in water, but I am sorry to say my own sloth like fault! I have loads of the stuff. I would be grateful for the number to the mobile shredding unit and to posting back to the sender! I think that will give me great please, and also keep the post office going a bit longer. Thanks again
  3. I often see Sami around the parade,, he is a regular, with one of his sons at Si Manga and is still as lovely and polite as he always was.
  4. I have stupidly been chucking junk mail into a basket.... Now have a sack full of it! Does anyone know of a place where I can take it to be burned or shredded. It's too much to do at home and having been the victim of fraud before I am loathe to just chuck it in the bin. Any ideas? Thanks
  5. I think it is going to be like those Gymboree soft play places. I have been watching to see when it is going to open too.
  6. Can anyone shed light on its new usage?. is it going to be a kiddie play room type thing/soft play? thanks
  7. He was ok, cleared a blocked sink ?40 quid not bad! 3 reminders to leave a positive review on here though!! But it's up to yourself if you do or don't. Don't know if I'd use him again don't know why
  8. I need a handy person who can fit new kitchen doors and put a new sink and work top in to revive a tired kitchen. Ideally it will be a retired handy man or self employed chippy? There is not enough work to have a company or the like. It must be someone who can be left to get on with it as I'm at work. Energetic pensioner maybe. Thanks in advance for any help.
  9. Maybe there's a reason it's always empty. I've had food there a while ago now, it was pretty dire. Will give it another go
  10. Went as usual to get the car washed and do the shopping.... No car wash? Everything seems to be packed up. Any ideas
  11. Couldn't agree more with the last comment. How insensitive of the some of the affluent folk who have made lordship lane their latest enclave
  12. Great to see like minded people on here. I love eating in Si Mangia and having a coffee in the French Cafe or buying fish and chips but I hate the rubbish. And to the minky person......this is a forum for the odd comment, I have also emailed the environmental health. Lethargy is not the reason I put it on here, I like the general chit chat!
  13. I love the painted posts and the French Cafe al fresco eating and Si Mangia and even the chippy BUT do the bins have to line the pavement??? Surely the shops have to take some responsibility for making sure the rubbish is actually in the bin? Yesterday there where 3 huge empty tomatoe sauce containers by the side of the bin! I won't even go on about the smell !
  14. Hello, in my school the reception teachers generally do a home visit if they are not able to see the child in a nursery setting eg if they have not attended any per-school provision. Hope that helps.
  15. Been there a few times but today was catastrophic! We went there for a lunch time natter (4 women) the days special still had 'Tuesday' written on the board! Poor start, and the menu was short of.....duck,chicken Kiev, goats cheese tarts, scotch eggs and something else I can't remember. If it were sold out I could understand but the reason given was...it was being prepped freshly? The time was 1.10 pm. Surely prep is done in the mornings ready for lunchtime trade? When I questioned this the bar man said " well you do want fresh food don't you, that's why we prepare it all fresh each day" duh!!! They could have prepped anyway as we then waited 45 mins for 2 burgers, chicken salad and a risotto. There was 2 other people in the whole place. Very poor today and doubt if I'll go again in a hurry. Hate to be doom and gloom but it's not the cheapest eatery in east dulwich either!
  16. Open today just got the sausages for our tea. Happy days
  17. Did George Harrison buy this for the Palace of Peace people???
  18. Thanks, thats that cleared up. I agree they were slow and a little haphazard, but it was a nice space to sit in. As long as an other chicken shop doesn't open I'll be happy.
  19. I think they are brilliant. Pity there is so much shop rubbish and huge bins in the way though!
  20. Hello can anyone enlighten me why the lovely cafe on Peckham rye, I think it was the old electrical shop, shut down??? Thanks
