I'm sure this is the same cat that's been hanging around the Herne Tavern tonight - the staff say it keeps trying to get inside. Pretty sure if you go down there tonight you'll find it!

Ah Phew! Just sent you a PM before I read this - what a relief. I know that some people on here (including admin) aren't keen on posts about cats - but they really are such a huge part of people's lives that it can be really upsetting if they go missing. (Personally I think helping people find a missing pet is much more beneficial to the community than some of the other posts on her which get more attention!). Glad this one's had a happy ending :) G

Neighbours had a mini stepladder but it wasn't high enough, we tried a plank of wood with some food on it too. Poor thing kept moving out of reach. Looks like it has got itself down now... My post was really in case someone was missing their cat so they could be reunited, but thanks for the advice. And I should have apologised in my first post for littering this forum with yet another cat post! Edited to say: EDF does have some curious rules - not sure why this has been lounged?! I guess i should have posted in the wanted/lost section.

There's a little cat stuck on a porch roof on Dunstans Road (at junction with Underhill). Has a dark collar with a round silver tag but we can't get close enough to get the info off the tag. We've tried coaxing it down with food but it won't come close enough, just mews lots! It's a cute little thing but definately looks like it hasn't been home for a few weeks, skinny and its fur's quite tatty. I'm sure it's lost because it looks like it's previously been someone's beautiful little pet. If you think it is yours PM me

I'd be very interested to find out if this OP has the same IP address as the poster of another party political thread which appeared just as this went sour. Genuine apologies iamhere if i'm wrong, just too much of a coincidence not to point out. And a shame if I'm right as I'd like to have thought better of them.

It was a nightmare when the pavements were being done along Dunstans Road. I lost count of the number of times I walked past rubble, tools and general waste that were left scattered around the area. They obviously had to return and re-finish one side as they'd left it worse off than it had started, and it still isn't great. I love that this area is getting some attention but you might want to get one of the council folk down to check it out before you pay or re-employ the contractors.

Personally I don't trust that it will sit safely in a police station until its owner turns up and I have heard stories from an off duty policeman to back this up. There are also other threads on this site that suggest retrieving items from a police station is less than easy. Trev, you might want to have a look for my post as there were some suggestions for tracking the user yourself. (Thanks to you too Huguenot!) Unfortunately I tried to hack into the tracks to get info about an itunes account and called Apple to see if they could help but was told they were unable to track it. I was even contacted by a local journalist interested in running a story but he didn't seem so keen when I said I would love him to run the story and would want to remain anonymous. PK - since you seem concerned about what happens to this lost property. The ipod I found is safe at my home in the hope that the owner or someone they know reads this forum. I have to say that the music on it suggests they might be that type of person! And yes - if it is not claimed I might give it to a friend (as I already have an ipod). I believe you'll find that most lost property can be returned to the finder if not claimed within a few months.

Like you thinking Huguenot! I bet someone's day has been ruined by losing it, was too deep in the snow to be anyone nearby. Not sure how i'd find out which PC it is registered to... don't want to connect it to mine in case it wipes all the music. My mate might put a sign up in her shop which is near the rye...

Midst snowball fight I spotted two white headphones sticking out of the snow. At the end of them under the snow was a cold ipod. It has the words "I could not live without you" on the back. Happy to return it to its owner - just let me know what kind of ipod it is and some of the music on it.

We've been here for over two years and have always had problems with parcels being delivered. Today I was told that my parcel had been sent back to the sender because the delivery person had written the wrong month on my card (which i'm sure will have been put through the door without ringing the bell). The same package had already been sent back because Royal Mail claimed my work address in Central London didn't exist?! Anyway - the guy at Sylvester road (who by the way always seems very nice) did give me their direct line the other day. Not sure if they want it to be private but am happy to pass it on if you PM me and will post it if people think it's ok to put their number on here.
