  1. Did anyone else see the Southwark council CEO undercover on 'Undercover boss' earlier this week? They featured a day centre on Lordship Lane
  2. I'm surprised at the above comments as (the only) time I went to the Palmerston to have a roast the portion was tiny, the food really wasn't that nice and it was very expensive and I've heard similar reviews from friends. As I said I only went once so it could of been an off day.
  3. I agree most of the curry restaurants in East Dulwich aren't great. We get our indian takeaway from 'India Gate' in Forest Hill, they do deliver to East Dulwich and the food is fantastic
  4. The Isle of Wight is a great place, I spent a lot of my childhood summer holidays there :). Off the top of my head I would recommend Blackgang Chine (bit pricey but children love it), Amazon World (handy if the weathers bad as a lot of it is undercover) Carisbrook Castle, Osbourne house and the Needles on the coast. Theres an ice rink too (I think in Ryde but not sure). There are lots of beaches-Colwell beack I think is very sandy and quiet. If you can defiantely take/ hire a car as public transport is not great.
  5. King's Griffin netball club are starting up again tomorrow after a Christmas break. We train every Saturday at JAGS sports centre from 10am-12. This includes fitness, ball drills and match play. All abilites are welcome, there is a a wide range of abilities and ages! Even better the first session is free! After the first session you can either pay ?30 for 10 weeks (only ?3 per session) or pay a 'pay as you play' drop in rate of ?5 per session. For anyone interested we also hope to join a local league soon. If you are interested please PM me.
  6. I play for a local netball team called 'Kings Griffin'. We practise every Saturday from 10am-12 noon at JAGS, just past North Dulwich station. All abilities/ages are welcome, there is a big range at the moment. The first session is free and then afterwards you can either pay ?30 for 10 weeks (a bargain at ?3 per session) or if you would prefer pay ?5 per drop in session. We only have 2 weeks (1st December and 8th of December) left before we finish for Christmas so you are welcome to come for a session or two before to see if you enjoy it? Feel free to PM me for more details.
  7. The route I have taken before is Piccadilly line line to Green Park, change onto Jubilee line for London bridge and then take overground train from London bridge to east dulwich. It'll probably take around 1 hour and 15 minutes. Beware though if she has heavy luggage, its a bit of a walk at Green Park.
  8. A second recommendation for the gardens surgery-I recently switched having also had bad experiences with the Lordship Lane Surgery.
  9. I was wondering how much do highlights and a cut+blowdry cost at this salon? I tried to see if they had a website but couldn't find one.
  10. I don't have children but I recently changed to The Gardens Surgery and its been really great so far-no problem getting appointments. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. They also run a seperate baby clinic (not for ill children, I think its more for vaccinations etc) which might be good for you?
  11. I would advise booking your test outside very busy times (e.g. rush-hour) as it will become very stressful. Also once you have chosen your specific test centre go for a lot of driving around the local roads so that you know about any unusual layouts/ roads that are particulary narrow etc. Bear in mind for this that there is not a very big radius in terms of area that you will cover for your test in order to get back to the test centre in time. Also although I appreciate you won't be as nervous ask your driving instructor to do a practise test with you-this might help raise a few minor issues you need to practise a bit more.
  12. We used Airport Direct Services in January after a long haul flight and they were fantastic, it was so easy! I know they have some larger cars but you would have to call them to get a quote.
  13. Normally I don't have any problems but tonight my orange phone reception seems to be working very intermediately and is mostly down. I live on Crystal Palace Road, anyone else having problems?
  14. I know its a bit further out but me and my partner went to the newly opened Bubbas Carribean restaurant in Tulse Hill last week and it was amazing!! The food was great, will definately be back soon. They are on taste card too (50% off on any night) so it was a bit of a bargain.

    Virgin Media TV

I am just weighing up the different options-the trouble is I think it would be cheaper to get the whole package from 1 provider and I have also heard a lot of issues about Sky's broadband. Also we currently have a virgin phone line and the BT phone lines are quite expensive in install.
