  1. That's all really. Have a good one ED.
  2. If Corbyn (for example) attacked a grieving widow I think you'd call him a tw*t quids and I'd agree with you. In such circumstances, I reckon anyone saying 'yeah, but Katy Hopkins has said worse stuff and I don't see the Right criticising her in the same way', you'd call them an apologist for Corbyn. You'd be correct too.
  3. Quids, I'm afraid you're so locked into a 'right versus left' mindset that you cannot see the inconsistencies in your own argument here. What Farage has said is totally wrong. Just because some idiot might have also said something very personal and nasty about Margaret Thatcher doesn't excuse it, it's not even remotely relevant... not unless you see everything in terms of some sort of us versus them, tit for tat relativism. That's exactly what you have (rightly) called people on 'the left' out for previously.
  4. Will know one think of the children!!!!!
  5. Thanks for the suggestions. Got some in Dulwich DIY on the Lane.
  6. Quids, you're starting to sound like an apologist for Farage. What happened in Berlin isn't relevant to whether or not his his comments about Jo Coxs widow are unpleasant. The fact that others have also in the past made odious comments doesn't change how we should see these recent remarks either. It's not left versus right. If Corbin insulted a grieving man would you think it reasonable for someone to say 'well Farage said something similar'?
  7. TBH Farage did surprise me. It seems particularly nasty and personal and (perhaps the surprising bit), clumsy.
  8. Well sure, social media is awful, what do you expect. Otta's right about Berlin though. What can you say about such an atrocity? It's just awful, but what more can one really say?
  9. The two are different stories. It's just silly to suggest that Farage can say outrageous things and because there are other horrors going on, we shouldn't talk about it. Your observation about the 'left wing media' isn't born out by the front pages BTW. Look at which papers led with what.
  10. ..actually I take that back. The Sun, the Mail and the Express decided to lead with the queen having a cold: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs/the_papers
  11. Oh come on Quids, that's nonsense. The outrageous attack in Berlin has been front page of every newspaper. They're different stories.
  12. Fundamentally, I am willing to bet with 100% certainty that I could walk down Lordship Lane right now and purchase some sliced white bread. I cannot believe there is anything so exceptional about the Co-op brand of mass produced, heavily processed sliced white that makes it necessary to get upset at having to fall back on a substitute. I would also bet however, with fairly high certainty, that at most times I would find the co-op fully stocked with their own brand sliced white.
  13. We don't really know anything. Frankly, the Co-op staff my be making assumptions about the breads end destination. I've gone in and bought a load of bread before when I'm having a kids party and making lot's of sandwiches for example. The Co-op is there to sell food, they aren't there to question it's use. Assuming for a minute however, that a cafe is buying co-op bread -Either it is using the shop as it's main supplier of bread (in which case, co-op ought to be able to predict the demand), or they're using it in instances where they've unexpectedly run out (which seems perfectly reasonable to me). Either way, I can't see how co-op is meant to police bread usage,or deny service. There are lot's of other shops on the Lane where you can get generic sliced white bread.
  14. I think they should only sell by the slice, ten slice limit.
  15. I just thought of 'really maria', they might be able to help. Otherwise the framing shop is probably a good shout. Thanks
  16. Hi anyone know where I can buy some fishing line locally? It's not for fishing, for a wall hanging. Looking for the transparent stuff. Thanks
  17. Where is a cafe meant to buy their bread? Co-op just need to manage their stock. Plenty of 'ordinary people' stop off for breakfast at the local cafe.
  18. Farage implying that Jo Cox's widow has links to extremism today. What an odious little tw*t.
  19. TFL should be handed the Southern franchise. Chris Grayling's decision to put political spitefulness over commuters well being is disgraceful.
  20. ...forget that, just seen the date of this thread. So surly stationary guy went out of business?
  21. Bit off topic, but does anyone know where I can buy stationary on Lordship Lane? Thanks
  22. nxjen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Doesn't West Dulwich centre around the shops at > the inter-section of Park Hall Road and Croxted > Road? Yeah, that makes sense.
  23. So what are the boundaries of West Dulwich? I can only find East Dulwich and Dulwich Village on Google maps.
