All the best, Dan Sorry to see the Seacow closing, wish you all the best.
  2. I heard it's going to be a new shop called 'The Chalk Block'
  3. The new flats are likely to be more commercial (i.e empty investment vehicles) than truly residential.
  4. It has 'sh*t' sprayed across the ankle of one of the fighters. I only saw it recently, but it may have been there for some time. It hasn't been fixed.
  5. The problem is BNG that the existing lines are all fragmented, suburban rail franchises. The chances of them being integrated and run in the interests of anyone other than Kent commuters is unlikely whilst the current model continues (if they're bought under the control of TFL then we may see them more aligned with the needs of inner London). This is why we need a high frequency, dedicated urban railway (aka the tube).

Unless public money can be used to line the pockets of property developers it aint being invested in infrastructure.
  7. The fighters next to the EDT. Some idiot sprayed an expletive across the bottom of it.
  8. Yes, let's see the park fenced off for three days, so kids from Guildford can pay ?80 to be sold rubbish, whilst listening to Adele and discussing how "Peckham's not that bad, and only 20 minutes from Clapham junction". I have no interest in this at all. How about supporting local live music venues and bands rather than having some corporate events company take over our park in order to 'tap into the experience economy'? Bah!
  9. So was the Conor Harrington mural unfortunately.
  10. These events are rarely about local talent. They're not community festivals, but large corporate events, fenced off and ticketed. I don't know why anyone would want to see the Rye privatised for several days. It's not like Clapham is difficult to get to.
  11. You joke, but I don't really want a three day festival within earshot and the local park taken over. It's only two stops on the overground to Clapham, why would anyone want it literally on their doorstep?
  12. I prefer cheese. Chalk has bad mouthfeel
  13. it would be interesting to know whether this actually saves any money once the cost of Delong with fly tipping is taken into account. I can't imagine it will.
  14. Saw this today : http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/dec/30/e-cigarettes-may-be-no-better-than-regular-cigarettes Certainly not definitive, but further reason to be cautious. As I said earlier, I would not surprised to see more evidence of negative health effects emerging at time goes on.
  15. Unless someone is intending to offend, sometimes it's better to be generous and not to take offence. It feels sometimes that the outrage reflex is getting a little overactive online.
  16. If Boris would stop diverting money from the infrastructure budget into follies like the Emirates cable car and garden bridge, or else into subsidising private developments marketed at overseas investors, and actually started using that money (collected from taxpayers) to serve taxpayers, things perhaps would improve. As it stands, SE London has no superhighway, no hire bikes, no tube, and extremely slow and unpredictable buses (and an even worse, provincial rail service). it's a fecking disgrace.
  17. If it's truelly the result of a big rent increase it's very disappointing. Is there no regulation around rents? Soup dragon, which was extremely popular, was forced out in similar circumstances an has been left empty for at least the last couple of years. It's seems (on the face of it at least) to be self defeating greed by some landlords.
  18. Narcos is great
  19. Reminds me of this: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/lego-promoting-unrealistic-body-image-2015061899397
  20. What a great Christmas story! Warms the cockles.
  21. It's very good. Can't wait for the next one.
  22. I wasn't being entirely serious you know (and I'm aware that it wasn't what exdulwicher was suggesting)
