  3. Again no wildlife, but a real whistler...
  4. Radio advert for a BMW sport model of some sort - Says something along the lines of "what's worse than constantly being stuck in traffic? You could be stuck in traffic in the wrong car". What are they getting at? You need a sports car so that you can feel superior in some way when sat in traffic?

I'm not sure this is true. Gazundering and gazumping is not something which most people do. Most people have principles and act decently. A significant minority don't, but it is a minority.
  6. Can we have a referendum about whether or not to keep the Welsh?
  7. Agree they're nasty, but sexist?
  8. Wow, a cape. I can't believe you took that gift horse, examined it's teeth, turned and walked away. You could have owned the streets man!
  9. Are the gates locked at night?

  11. Just realised that last post is getting dangerously close to inviting a 'car v bike' digression. Not my intention. Please let's not go there.
  12. I suppose you're right, it just seems more dangerous for some reason (probably my experience of 'not being seen' as a cyclist).
  13. OK. It looks more likely that this could actually happen, so maybe we should start thinking about how we're going to divide things up. Scotland - your welcome to keep haggis, bagpipes and man skirts, but can we do a deal on Billy Connolly? Also, if you show some flexibility on this, we'll consider taking the Crankies off your hands (which I think you'll agree is pretty generous) and shows good faith. Despite the posturing, you can keep the pound. UKIP have ruined it for us anyway.
  14. Out of interest... Did anyone catch up with the errant hand holders? I do hope they were brought to justice.

  16. ... but this forum has around 50,000 users. So who are all these EDF interlopers!? Townleygreen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > according to the 2011 census, the "usual resident > population" of ED ward was 12,321
  17. One thing that strikes me about having a two way lane is that it's going to be pretty difficult for cars passing across it from side streets to spot people coming in both directions.
  18. ...and it's not wide enough to have bike going in both directions. The north/south link shows Blackfriars bridge road. That section looks good, but check the rest out. Overall I think it's positive that there is a genuine effort to improve things though and this is our opportunity to feed into it and suggest improvements.
  19. Take a look at the image on the east west link. That will just have pedestrians walking / standing all over it.
  20. I am slightly nervous about the idea of having having cyclist going in both directions on the same narrow path and the fact that some of the paths will at pavement level (pedestrians will walk in them, stand in them talking on their phone etc.). Looks like a genuine attempt to make cycling safer though.
  21. Just a heads up, although the new timetable is accurate in terms of departures, real life arrivals bear no resemblance to it. Add 10-15 minutes.
  22. Probably depends on your circumstance.

    ffs

I'm sure someone will come on here soon to imply that this is reasonable behaviour and you're just being uptight / square disapproving of a grown man shtting in public, but for what it's worth I'd have rubbed his nose in it.
  24. You can download a pocket timetable here: http://ojp.nationalrail.co.uk/service/pdf/result.pdf?ts=1409560608251
