  2. ...and you don't need to start a new thread every time you want to make a point on LTNS (or any other topic).

Would like to know why you're accusing me of being selfish? I drive, I don't live on an LTN. I'm personally inconvenienced by the road changes, but I also recognise the need to make driving less convenient if we want any chance of reducing the number of journeys. It is possible to have a different view and to debate that without making it about some innate character flaw or resorting to name calling.

It is notable how some people have suddenly become very concerned about pollution. Not enough to give up their car, but enough to campaign against schemes that make driving less convenient.
  5. Btw, making it at easy as possible to drive around London by opposing any restrictions on motor vehicles, is an odd way to reduce emissions.
  6. Another thread? You couldn?t have just added your thoughts to the 10 or so existing ones?
  7. Less sunlit uplands, more the uplands pub circa 2000
  8. Wasn't the whole contrived 'voter fraud' thing something Farage was pushing for a bit? Johnson tried to neutralise it by putting voter ID in the manifesto? He's simply following through on something they promised to prevent Farage getting the wind in his sails again. It's on the fringes of the thinly veiled racism grift where Farage and others like to hangout.
  9. I wonder whether it's more to do with tight vs loose cultures. The former is more likely to develop in areas, or situations where people feel higher levels of threat / less secure. If things where you lived had been in decline for a long time, you might see things through a different lens - one that where you're better disposed to promises of control, order, rules and a reduction in freedoms. We like to think we're all really rational and make good choices, but we're heavily influenced by the situation we find ourselves in and cognitive forces which we're barely conscious of.

They feel it's OK to give you a hard time because they are asshats. Sorry you've had to deal with that nonsense.
  11. There is (or was) very little bike parking on LL. Can't really see how anyone can object to a few bike racks being provided.

  13. So agree with this. the Finsbury Park bike facility is great. Would be good to have something Similar at Brixton tube. Good facilities at Peckham Rye though.

There seems to have been a lot of this - lockdown dogs. Slightly worried about what?s going to happen to them all when the new owners have to start returning to the office.

  17. Apparently there has been a bit of a spate of locker thefts in NW London. It's still got to be safer than just locking it on the street though and as northernmonkey says, you can always store a heavy lock there.
  18. 'visual descriptions of musical chords' apparently https://www.contemporaryartsociety.org/consultancy/projects/dulwich-park-conrad-shawcross-commission/
  19. I think we only need 1 more and we'll be into double digits. Just seems a little excessive.
  20. I?m not starting the threads. Just appealing to people to stop creating new ones all the time. Very happy to debate, but would be good if it could be done in one place.
  21. I think we only need someone to create 1 more thread on this topic and we'll be in to double digits. At the current rate of growth we should be looking at a name change to 'the LTN ranting forum' by the end of this month.
