  1. With pet ownership high, it is estimated 43% of households in the UK have at least one furry, feathery or scaly family friend, it came as no surprise to me that there is another vet opened up in this area. To be honest, when I moved here 9 years ago I was shocked at the lack choice but also thankful, that I was not paying a premium just due to lack of competition. I have been with Lordship Lane vets since moving here and I trust them whole-heartedly with my little treasures. I have found they are caring and give good advice. I had an emergency with one of my cats just as they were closing on a Saturday and they stayed open for me to bring her down. She was indeed very sick and I was lucky to get her to them when I did, it was her welfare that was most important to them and not the clock. If you are with Lordship Lane Vets and have concerns, chat with them, they are all very approachable. I?m loving the sound of cat only evenings, but I would still not hesitate to go other times as I am able to wait in the quiet shop area if any of my cats are getting stressed, I just let the receptionist know where I?ll be. I will be staying with Lordship Lane Vets, but also wish the new vets good luck as I think there is space for them both in the pet loving borough.
  2. I agree. Last week one of them threw and left the brown food waste bin on my plants. I will see how they are this week and if it happens again I will put in a complaint.
  3. If you need the items picking up, try the Furniture re-use network 'FRN'. I used them when I cleared out a late relative's property. I got the details from the Salvation Army website. The FRN promote re-use of unwanted furniture and household items for the alleviation of need, hardship, distress and poverty. The south London contacts are here and Emmaus, as mentioned above, are listed as a FRN contact http://www.frn.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=92&Itemid=92 LuVED
  4. I agree with you DJKillaQueen, signs would have been nice. I waited at Denmark Hill station before I realised there were no buses. I was a little miffed as the buses seemed to be going the other way so I thought things had been sorted out.
  5. Narnia, I understand that. I am not sure why but at the beginning it was never a problem. However, it has got increasingly worse over the last couple of years. PeckhamRose, I totally agree, I will get in touch with the resident association that got together for the proposed Talbot Road development.
  6. I would like to know who has been consulted on this development. I would be directly effected and have received no consultation either. Parking here has become a nightmare with the 5 aside, and once the development was cut off due to the way a couple of cars were parked. Also on a number of occasions, due to Abbotswood Road being so narrow, you can barely get a car through. I would not like to think what would happen if a fire engine or ambulance needed to get through.
  7. A Waitrose gets my vote and it wouldn't stop me from shopping at the local shops. To be honest, if a Waitrose was there I would probably visit LL more often.
  8. Nunhead Bodger. Ha ha ha. Put a smile on my face, it's brill.
  9. Thanks Giggirl for your support. She's quite upset today as we didn't get chance to give her a new look.
  10. She got a little hot today>
  11. My snow(o)man. Changes clothes every day, so will keep you posted.
  12. After being told by a 40 bus driver there were no buses going down DKH, I alighted at Camberwell Green, hailed a black taxi which then sailed past a 176 going down DKH ! Neither taxi or bus had any problems going down the hill.
  13. Hi Genwilliams, I'm with Vodafone and have been for yonks. I've got an iPhone and pretty much all the time have a full service. I'm near Sainsbury's and can see what looks like a mobile mast from my back garden so that probably helps with the good service. I don't tend to have any problems with service in East Dulwich at all with the exception of the area near the Harvester when I'm lucky to even get one bar. Love my iPhone but have nearly bankrupted myself with all the Apps on offer ! Hope that helps a little.
  14. I can second the Gardens doctor's surgery. All nurses and doctors great.
  15. Hi, could you please PM me Tina's details. She seems very resonable and I've just lost my very loyal cat sitter who has moved to west London. Also happy to do mutual cat feeding if anybody is interested. I'm at the development behind Sainsbury's.
