  1. Hi Kevin, Do you sharpen lawn mover blades as well ? Thanks, LuvED
  2. FunkyChic, they have a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/DrumAndKernelPopcorn where they update where they will be. Indeed they did had to pack down early, along with some other traders, as the wind was making it dangerous.
  3. Not very well advertised but our local heritage museum is looking for a part-time HR person. Closing date is this Friday, so please be quick. Follow the link to apply http://www.dulwichpicturegallery.org.uk/the_gallery/vacancies/hr__payroll_officer.aspx
  4. Lots of free parking in East Dulwich. Be careful of Grove Vale though which has time restrictions but is clearly marked. Also the parking bays at the end of Melbourne Grove may also have restrictions, just get your friend to check.
  5. I've used a solicitors called Stephens & Sons in Kent for a couple of flat sales. I've recommended them to other people as well who have had the same great service I received. One person was on a very tight deadline to complete and it all went through smoothly. I couldn't fault them and highly recommend them. The lady is called Tina Christian and the telephone number is 01634 831532.
  6. Try Glamourous Nails on Grove Vale. 0208 693 9911. Not sure if cuticle care is included in the price though, check with them when you call.
  7. My cats have been going to Lordship Lane Vets for 10 year and they get my recommendation.
  8. Really feeling for your cat and you, what a stressful time for you both. I second what The Minkey says. See if Celia Hammond's can do a neuter and return. An neutered male is far less likely to fight and have territory battles. It will also reduce the population of unwanted pregnancies and it happening all over again. They will talk through the best procedure to capture the cat and offer assistance. You may want to try Feliway as well to calm your cat. It's not cheap and doesn't work on all cats but have a look into it. I have used it with success but make sure you put it in a room where your cat spends most of its time. Good luck.
  9. I would definitely recommend this boarding. It really is a home from home stay away. Your pooch would be pampered, cuddled and given varied walks.
  10. Hi upthefoxes, I've lived in the area you mention for 10 years. Yes, as reported on EDF, there were a spate of break-ins along with a lot of East Dulwich. I haven't heard of anything recently happen though, and fingers crossed may this long be the case. In the years I have been here this is the only spate I know of. I know my neighbours very well and we look out for one another. As it's a bunch of cul-de-sacs you see the same people and get to know them which are mainly families and professionals. From the best of my knowledge the building you mention is residence for local doctors and nurses. I'm in close proximity of it and it has never caused a problem. I feel safe here and love where I live, although my friends tell me it's a little Brookside. Hey, if I can park my car outside my house, give me Brookside any day of the week ! Hope this helps but feel free to private message me if you have any other questions. LuvED
  11. Try Whitten Timber in Peckham. Good range of doors from cheap to expensive. I was surprised at how expensive a good door is though but I think that is generally the case all over.
  12. This is a piece of genius. Good work.
  13. Thanks for the heads up Melbourne Groover. I've got a ring that needs fixing and it sounds like they could help. Nice to keep it local
  14. I would recommend Turners. I've used them a few times, they know their stuff and I didn't feel they were just trying to take my money like some other garages. I have to say we are pretty lucky around here with good honest garages by the looks of it.
  15. I went to this tonight and would highly recommend Crunchers Accountants seminars to anybody with their own business, big or small. They are monthly and the next one is all about return on investment.
  16. I rented my flat out many moons ago and was asked whether I would let to an elderly gentleman with the equally elderly cat. I agreed as I had cats myself and knew that they are part of the family. I have to say when the flat was handed back to me from this gentleman it was almost as if they had never lived there. No mess, no smell and the new carpet I had laid before renting was in perfect condition. I think the suggestion of offering to put up a bigger deposit may help as landlords do not want to risk losing money by potentially forking out for extra money for cleaning or damage that the dog may have caused. Offering more deposit mitigates this risk and any for any business savvy person it is all about the money. Is it a flat or house you are looking to rent ? If it is a flat, it would normally be leasehold, there could potentially be a clause that states 'no pets', but it's worth asking the question. Good luck in your search. LuvED
  17. I second VIP Bin as well for the reasons above.
  18. That's great. I've seen some great ones this year and there seems to be a lot of sculpting going on. No where as good as Vader but here's my snowmen doing Y.M.C.A.
  19. That looks real yummy. I think I may have to pop by next Saturday
  20. Just called Mike with from the recommendation of this thread. I had a new light to fit and he was very good and I would also recommend him.
  21. I use Indorex which seems to work for me. Make sure you get it in all the nooks and cranny's. Amazon always seems to be the cheapest.
  22. Great news, welcome and good luck with your new venture. Loving the idea of live music. Also, many moons back The Vale had DJ's at the weekend. East Dulwich seriously misses a place where you can bop away at a weekend. Haven't had a decent Sunday roast in ED for a long long time. If you do, please can we have a proper veggie option with all the trimmings. Looking forward to coming down for a drink or 2 as you are my local.
  23. I'm with Talk Talk and my internet went on Tuesday. Phoned Talk Talk yesterday around 6pm, fixed by 10pm. Think there was a problem at the exchange.
  24. I love the idea. Yes, I would def come along
