  1. Just a quick note to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated to our food bank collections over the past few weeks. We - and Pecan - have been so grateful for your ongoing generosity. 2. A reminder that Oru Space is accepting donations for Pecan fod bank again today between 12-3. Remember: - only one person donating inside at a time; - please observe social distancing measure if there is a queue (at least 2m between each person); - please use available hand sanitiser before placing items in boxes; - please put items in the relevant box to make sorting easier. Thank you. We'll let you know when we've set up the regular sessions next week.
  3. Hello, The Goose Green Mutual Aid Group and Oru Space have made arrangements to make it easier for East Dulwich residents to make donations to Pecan, Southwark's foodbank based in Peckham (https://www.pecan.org.uk/southwark-foodbank). If you would like to make any donations, please drop off your items at Oru Space (nextdoor to Organic Village and opposite Franco Manca) between 12-3pm on Easter Sunday or Easter Monday. Regular donation slots will be set up thereafter and I will post here as soon as they are confirmed. Any questions, please email the Goose Green Mutual Aid team on [email protected] Pecan have requested the following items: Milk (Long Life/UHT) Pasta sauce Meat Soup Rice Pudding Tinned Mixed Veg Baked Beans Tinned fish Jam Tinned Meat (Pork and Non-Pork) Tinned tomatoes Rice Pudding Tinned Fruit Fruit Juice (Long Life) Toiletries (toothpaste/brushes, shower gel, deodorant, shaving foam, razors) Thank you. x

Hope it proves helpful. x
  5. Right, we've now completed the collection but have loads of swapsies left over. If anyone still has any they need, PM me a list and I'll see if we can help you with any. Cheers.
  6. Mrs Y, tried to PM you but apparently your inbox is full. We now only need 025 from your list of swaps. Care to exchange it for 016? Thanks.
  7. Right, we can help you out with number 16. From your list we need 25 and 98...
  8. I - I mean, my son - is collecting the Sainsbury's Lego cards and has a load of swapsies. But he's got nobody to swap them with. Anybody else got any and looking for a swapping buddy?
  9. Every year we get a Christmas card addressed to Mr & Mrs Pine Coffin. The address is ours but the postcode is not; it's SE22 0DJ, which I believe is the other end of Upland Road to us. I asked this same question last year (or perhaps the year before) and somebody responded, saying they knew of them, but I seem to have deleted the message. Anyone know them or where I might find them? Thanks.
  10. Right, I spoke to Cycle Hoop today to see how I could go about getting one close to (or yes - even better - in front of) my house and they said that all requests were passed on to the council and decisions on exact locations were made by the council, based on levels of interest. As each hanger takes six bikes, you need at least six requests nearby to have a good chance of getting one. They will also send you canvassing cards you can pass to your neighbours though to see if there's anyone else nearby interested. I'm just waiting for mine now. In the meantime, anyone interested in the Upland Road/Hindmans Road/bottom of Barry Road area send me a PM.
  11. Are Dulwich Hamlet - or indeed, anyone else - doing further collections, does anyone know?
  12. One for the ornithologists among you... I keep hearing that it's a good winter for waxwings, but I've not seen one yet. Anyone seen any in the ED area?
  13. Thanks Giuli, how intriguing. I feel a bit like a private investigator or something. And it doesn't get much more exciting than that on a Tuesday evening. I shall let you know where your lead takes me...
  14. We've received two pieces of post for Mitzi Wortley. They say 33A Upland Road, but there is no 33A Upland Road. The postcode on them is SE22 0DL, which I think is the other end of Upland Road. If you are or know Mitzi Wortley, please let me know and I'll make sure your post reaches you. Thanks.
  15. We've received a card addressed to Sarah & Martin Brown - the postcode is SE22 0DP, which is Upland Road, but the number is wrong, so it's ended up at ours at the other end of Upland Road. We've tried putting it back in the post twice but it's come back both times. We opened it this time to see if there was a return address. There is not, but it turns out it's a wedding invitation, so we're anxious to get it to its rightful owners. If anyone knows them, please let us know. Thanks.
  16. Walking across Dulwich Park this morning, I encountered a family of young squirrels feeding on a yew tree. On closer inspection, I also noticed a pair of tiny goldcrests, who were more than happy for me to get about a foot away from them and take photos of them for 10 minutes. They were happy, but I think there were a couple of angry mistle thrushes above who wanted me to go away, or at least that's what it sounded like they were telling me.
  17. I've come in late to this discussion, so I'll say only this: I'm with *Bob*.
  18. Really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Actress last night. I ususally don't like to watch football without sound but I thought it worked well. And hopefully it will discourage the kind of 'fans' who sit there shouting and swearing at the screen, ruining it for those of us who appreciate that it is in fact just a game, and really not worth getting that worked up about. Last week, for example, at another pub in ED, I had the pleasure of sitting next to a man, who at one point shouted out (without pausing for breath) "What you f*cking doing, Lennon? Yes, go on, Lennon! Oh f*ck off, Lennon!"
  19. Scott, great night on Thursday. Thanks. Can't wait to come back next week. I couldn't help but notice your projector screen concealed in the ceiling. Is it fair to assume you're going to be showing football? Might you be showing the Spurs-Arsenal match this Tuesday?
