Cool. The Readers Digest Manuel sound like it is out of another age, something your dad or grandad would have used. But bally hell it covers everything (well perhaps in a non-digital age)

You are all getting rather rabid. Concept is good, but for various reasons may be failing. Perhaps someone can suggest a positive alternative.

A deal was struck when the East London Line was extended and became one arm of the Overground that Shoreditch High Street would be in Zone 1, hence not a cheap way to get to Liverpool Street and the City, and similarly those going beyond would also get caught. A potential extra grand a year on an Oyster pay as you go during peak hours. You can avoid this by traveling Overground to Canada Water, Jubilee to Stratford, Overgound to Highbury and Islington. 15 - 20 extra mins plus some hassle changing. The Elizabeth line could cut this down by maybe five mins. Not sure how the card checker would know you avoided Zone 1 unless you touch in at Stratford. Does anyone do this? Would anyone do this? Sensible answers if you please. For those going to Liverpool Street and the City a nice 20 min walk from Whitechapel (zone 2).

Good, overpriced, overcold overfizzy over-flavoured beer. Enjoy.

Sorry my earlier post was rather inappropriate. I've now had a closer look and agree with you. Also I'll happily join your petition to get your road closed and traffic moved to the East of the Rye, and similarly Harris Boys moved to a more appropriate location like Shetland.

Radiator off the wall, hose to a cold water mains tap, Bob's your uncle. Careful in transporting the radiators in the house as the black iron oxide is a pig to get off carpets. Pretty simple but as others point out some inhibitor stops this happening. Man (lady) up East Dulwich. Buy the Readers Digest DIY manual and/or go on a home maintenance DIY course at night school.

Sad news - as she said herself she was a young teenage boy's dream. Is Michael Keating still living around here?

I expect that the Estate Agents market is inefficient with unnecessarily high overheads. In this digital world perhaps it is fairly time limited. Does anyone feel sorry for estate agents? You'll no doubt get others entering the market if Purple Bricks is a shoddy outfit. Pretty high scoring on Trustpilot with 52,000 reviews - can't be a conspiracy https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/purplebricks.co.uk

Was in Nigeria 30 years ago and the roads were full of Peugeots - we've missed that boat I expect. Even Iran has discontinued the Hillman Hunter. Although with sanctions could make a good strategic partner... I suppose we could outsource too

obviously Dawson Heights - a good call Memories of Dalston in the 80s and 90s before it became trendy - burnt out cars and the like.

Nice clip at 1 minute of a Paul Weller lookalike. A few years ago I passed this bloke by the Morley College, grey hair combed forward, quite haggard. Cabby asks me if it was PW. No I said just a sad middle aged man. Then thought again, yes it was the Modfather (smoking has led to a poor complexion a fan told me. Was going to put on Jasper Carot Funky moped, but thinking about his younger days and summer. maybe their English Rose -
Nope, I feel that it is targeted to those already in a career rather than those just starting out. Or maybe nobody wants to head hunt me.

Can you all do me a favour and say a little bit more about what these articles are about. i'm worried about clck bait and being drawn into ten pictures of what veteran celebrities look like now. At least with the TV I don't have to turn onto Channel 5. It also seems rather lazy to post other people's articles and views without expressing a reasoned opinion. I'm in denial so I don't have one but have all of those on this site who posted really insightful stuff left, got bored or gone on holiday?

Prey do tell me what borrow my dog, and dog buddy are? I assume that these are companies that loan you dogs for those who could not keep one permanently say for work, accommodation or physical reasons. The charity where I work brings in dogs to help with therapy. Before kids came along I thought there could be a service where those without children but where most of the peer group did could do a child hire. Obviously there are too many protection issues here to make this a runner. Of course there is a lot in common between kids and dogs. Just thought I'd throw that one in. Not sure how my family managed with pets in the old days without all these niche services.

Updated for 2018 Hacker: Can they all type? Sir Humphrey: Yes Minister.
-
Sir Humphrey: Well briefly, sir, I am the Permanent Under Secretary of State, known as the Permanent Secretary. Woolley here is your Principal Private Secretary. I too have a Principal Private Secretary and he is the Principal Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary. Directly responsible to me are ten Deputy Secretaries, 87 Under Secretaries and 219 Assistant Secretaries. Directly responsible to the Principal Private Secretaries are plain Private Secretaries, and the Prime Minister will be appointing two Parliamentary Under-Secretaries and you will be appointing your own Parliamentary Private Secretary. Hacker: Can they all type? Sir Humphrey: None of us can type. Mrs Mackay types: she's the secretary.

Rendel - how quaint. A secretary helping with the admin. Haven't seen a secretary, PA or the like for years. Something that the bosses have to do now, sift through hundreds of applications. As most jobs in the metropolis need a degree, or in any case graduates will apply for, it tends to be a ten second job - degree, tick box, post graduate (my word they must be desperate), tick another box, sound like they would fit in, tick another box. Next application. (written in good humour, as I am sure you realise)

If you want to be a more ethical consumer don't use Amazon as the first resort. This lot seem to be pretty helpful. https://www.pestcontrolsupermarket.com/pest-expert-formula-p-carpet-moth-smoke-bombs-twin-pack-78-p.asp And do various packs of bombs, sprays etc

To a good home. Administrator can you please delete this thread, it's served its time but it is no longer pining for the forests, it has kicked the bucket, shuffled off its mortal coil......

But nice results Rendel - hope your all proud.

1977 holiday to Sidmouth in a caravan very close to the Sanctuary, and a beach (Weston) where some people took their clothes off. Fond memories.

I've heard the army could be brought in. Well done, nothing better than a World War to boost national pride, spur on our industry, encourage self sufficiency, increase criminality and STDs (although we could shoot criminals and loose ladies under emergency powers). I expect that Trump is ready and waiting to help us out. The chap I saw at Bromley South with the tattoos of Winston Churchill, a poppy and WW1 soldier has already signed up

I'm on a formal appraisal system that has gone from a five box system which allowed intermediate marks (ie nine in total), to a five box, to six, to three, to six, to five, and now to six again. A mid mark (3) is supposed to be absolutely fine, and a four just saying that there are a couple of particular areas where you need to improve. But our natural bias is that 5/10 is a useless mark. Takes me back to my school days where different teachers used different marking, and different standards. numerical with half marks could in theory be 20 different marks, and A - E 15 (A + to E -). Personally I like to be clever and use Greek. Confused you will be.

Although in a British made and British owned car I hasten to add. Chinese must be quaking in their boots. Oh, wait a second, they seemed to have brought the brand and shifted production to over there. We just have to leave the World, now. I demand a referendum.
