  1. Does anyone know what is being filmed ? The film crew have been around for a couple of weeks ago now and all the filming equipment and crew are parked at the back of the football ground.
  2. Urchin good luck with it all. My baby had a dairy allergy which took ages to diagnose which meant vomiting 24 hours a day (most dishearting seeing all the effort of breastfeeding being thrown away). I was then put on a no dairy diet.....I have to admit that dairy is in virtuallly everything....but I soon worked out what I could/couldn't eat and it was all worth it as it resulted in virtually vomit free days. When moving onto solids we had to avoid all dairy and special non dairy / non soya milk was prescribed. At 12 months soya and dairy were introduced very slowly and now at 1.5 years she is eating a full dairy diet. It is tough and upsetting when so young however try and remain positive it is all about adjusting to a new way of eating. I thought that not being able to eat chocolate and all those yummy cakes which one can indulge in when breastfeeding would be a nightmare....however there are alternatives and I found foods which I would never have before tried. The nursery were very good and also took it in their stride and I found the consultant and dietician at Kings excellent. Fingers crossed that your baby will grow out of it and keep your chin up.
  3. I did spot some workmen in the shop under the flats last week so there might be (?) some hope......you would have thought a good site opposite the station ..
  4. I heard that the Old Blackbird Bakery was going to be an icecream shop.....this was a few months ago and I assume that this has all fallen through, as we are mid way through August and no sign of it !
  5. Advice don't trust the Southwark Holiday timetable for children. Last week I went to both Kingswood Library and Dulwich Library which had advertised rhyme time and story telling on Thursday morning. Neither of these are operating over the summer school holidays despite being in the holiday timetable. This has certainly put me off relying on any other of the stated activities.......a pointless publication by southwark !
  6. surely there must be some kind of control for variation in the type of shops provided. How many Indian restaurants does one street need !!!! I do like curries but is there really a need to have so many ?
  7. Feel that a trip to a toy shop is needed as my little girl seems to have outgrown the ones we have. Any suggestions as to toys which have been favourites for this age would be greatly appreciated........I was going to do things for the garden however due to the poor weather etc.......not probably worth it !
  8. Went in on Saturday....busy but certainly not packed. Hope the owners are reading as there is a lot of improvement for them to make:- 1) ordered three meals. They all came at different times and the last one came when the other two had finished.. 2) one of the ingredients had been left out of the sandwich 3) was told to be careful as the dish was very hot....well not sure that it had even hit the oven! 4) had to ask three times for a drink 5) when I got the bill I notice that the prices did not even tally up with those on the menu/boards... it all looks very nice but certainly won't be going back in a hurry
  9. How strange - my husband and I have also been doing a little chocolate brownie tasting test and we can also confirm that East Dulwich Deli wins the prize hands down. I even told them that last week ! Added to the list we have also tried Blackbird Bakery - but dry and less chocolate than ED Deli. And if you are bored with chocolate brownies the other cakes in the deli are also very nice
  10. Ah so my husband was not seeing things....yes he has seen it twice !
  11. In Starbucks this afternoon having a quiet coffee and within 30 mins it was like crime watch unfolding in front of my eyes...... Firstly a man was frogmarched through the store - I assumed being caught shoplifting.....then 10 mins later the alarms went off and there was a man being held on the floor in what appeared to have been an attempt in snatching someones handbag.....then shortly after two young boys - approx 10 years old were being questioned by security..... So beware when shopping in Sainsburys and maybe it is time to start shopping on line ! I assume that this was a random afternoon and not the norm
  12. the stinging nettles have FINALLY been cut back, so safe to use the path again ! a great shortcut ! Just a tip - you will now be going to Sainsburys at least once a day as it is the corner shop to your new home.
