  1. Hi all, Our 2 1/2 year old has always been a brilliant sleeper since she was tiny, however in the last couple weeks it has all changed. She now wakes up every night, sometimes at 11.30, sometimes a bit later and then gets out of her bed, and comes and knocks on our bedroom door. We quietly put her back in her bed and tell her to stay there but 5 minutes later she will be up and out of bed again. This will continue for nearly 4 hours. She has absolutely no problems getting off to sleep at 7pm, and has always slept with the light off and the door closed. When she moved to a bed from a cot 3 months ago there was no problem either. Having had a total of about 9 hours sleep in the past 3 nights I have spent today walking into walls and knocking things over. Anyone been through the same thing and have any tips on how to deal with it? Thanks!
  2. This is very dodgy and in fact identical to something that happened to my elderly neighbour a few years ago. A guy knocked on her door and she let him in and he said he would give her ?15 for her microwave. He stole her purse which was lying on a sideboard and fled. We heard her shouting in the street so went out to help her but he had scarpered. It sounds like this could be the same person so it should definitely be reported to the police.
  3. Big Jim, I'm going to try and make it to Dads and littleuns with my 10 month old for the first time myself tomorrow so hopefully you won't be the only newbie there!
  4. A young guy came round a couple of days ago, he must have been no more than 15 or 16 years old. He had a clipboard and said he was working for a company that assesses the exteriors of houses, for damaged brickwork, etc. He said that the company would make an appointment to call for a free assessment. He was reading directly from a script on his clipboard so was clearly very inexperienced and I think I noticed someone working the other side of the road too. He offered me a flyer but I told him I wasn't interested and he didn't get pushy. I don't think he was necessarily scoping the house for burglary purposes but I also don't think a company that user such people to canvas for business would be reputable either.
