  1. I dont read the telegraph but it seems to have really good coverage http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/8687177/London-riots-live.html
  2. Was on the news. Surrey Quays also been told to close due to a gang moving in that direction
  3. Unconfirmed reports the shopping centre has been evacuated and Morrisons is on fire

  5. These kids are the dregs of society, they care about nothing. They dont care about their families, their community, their friends, who they hurt or what the do. They simply have no regard for the value of human life which is why they have been running around the streets of London stabbing and shooting each other for far to long. This has nothing to do with teh current political mess, this is something that has been brewing for years and has coem to the forefront because of sheep like mentality, they have seen others getting away with it and so they think it is their god given right to do it and get away with it.
  6. Completely agree, but its strength in numbers taht is needed, no weapon wielding or aggressive shouting, just simple, peaceful lining the streets, not giving them the chance to cause any damage to property. These guys are not interested in fighting everyone they see, just on what they can get from shops and damage that they can cause. If we all stood together it could work, if it came to it.
  7. Seemed to work in Clapham- Earlier, a social divide revealed itself in Clapham this morning. Looters stopped sacking shops at the junction between St Johns Road to the north and Northcote Road to the south. To the north are council estates and chain stores such as Debenhams, JD and Currys. These shops were looted. To the south are Victorian terraces and shops like Jack Wills, White Stuff and artisan bakeries. These were untouched. Am told Northcote Road residents formed a line at where the roads meet and let no-one pass.
  8. With the police being as stretechd as they are and the likelihood of knobs returning to our area tonight we need to stand up to the pricks. Im not tallking fighting running battles through ED but we need to pull together as a community, form a human chain around the local area and stop the bastards getting in- anyone else prepared to stand up to them???
  9. Providing the new windows dont alter the appearence of teh property then there wouldnt be problem in this as you are not in a coservation area. Yes, you can apply for permission but you dont need it and it is a waste of money and time. We went through a similar process and found out we never had to in the end.
  10. Thanks guys, I will give one of these a shot. i dont think it would be too bad if I could leave earlier but unfortunately it is out of my hands. Someone else suggested going through the Blackwall tunnel and up to the M25 and around, has anyone tried that at all?
  11. I have to get onto the M1 on saturday around midday, anyone got any suggestions of the best way to do it on a saturday????
  12. Thanks all for your help. Will look into the suggestions.
  13. Train to London Bridge, London bridge to Baker street, cross the platform at Baker street for tube to Paddington then Heathrow express- takes under an hour
  14. I have been asked to look into setting up a website as part of a project in work but dont have the first clue about where to start. I have registered the domain name, but thats about as far as i have got. The aim of teh site is to host a blog, but laos have the capability of providing a forum for users to respond to the blog and debate things. Anyone got any ideas how I would go about this, im hitting a brick wall at the moment.

Well if that isnt the pot calling the kettle black. DJ, you of all people should not be calling other people ignorant. You should read some of your own posts first before passing judgement on others the you will see who the real ignorant poster is.
  16. DJKillaQueen Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Peckham Rye West IS part of ED ward.....get over > it lol. ED Ward actually onl;y goes to Crystal Palace road, Underhill road friern road and uplands road, now you would hardly call that Peckham Rye West would you? Or are you claiming that all of those streets count as being in Peckham Rye west?

Some of the comments on here have caused offence whether they were meant to or not, so you have been asked to refrain from discussing certain things on this particular thread. Why cant you just do it instead of trying to argue the entire time- its boring. People want to offer their condolences after this tragic incident, but you, yet again want to turn it into the DJ Killer Queen show- pathetic.

Other areas have > crime cascade, so everybody knows what is going > on. Why not on ED forum? Concita- I was not abusing you in teh slightest, if you botehers to read the post I was defending you. Its perfectly acceptable for you to be a little crazy given the topic tht is being discussed, and I was merely pointing out that people should take that into account in the thread, that you arent perhaps as rational as others at the moment because of the experience you have been through. As others have already pointed out victims of crime have a much narrower perception of what is going on around them.
  19. Very true Huguenot, threads like this spread fear, but I can also see them being a way of venting for victims of crime, perhaps looking for a bit sympathy! Im sure that the threads have done a good job in alerting people to the fact that crime does occur in this area, as well as the majority of London and that vigilance is always a good thing. However I agree that these things make it sound like it is the worst area in London, which it certainly does not seem to be. It may be a target and thefore there has been a spike, but people should feel quite safe, but consider themselves well informed.
  20. Not sure why everyone is so aggro on this, have never been burgled but imagine it isnt very nice. lets hope that you all get burgled though and see how you react then. The woman who started this thread obviously seems a bit upset, even a little crazy, but this just seems to be bullying to me.
