  1. If you are wondering what to do with your family and friends this Sat why not begin the festive season by popping down the road to Sydenham and meet Santa's REAL reindeer at the Our Lady & St Philip Neri Primary School Christmas fair! See attached flyer for more info!
  2. Hi has anyone had any luck finding childcare just for school drop off and pick up. What I would like would be for someone to drop off and pick up children from their school and bring back to my house. I get home at 5pm so would only be an hour and a half to 2 hours after school. Is an au pair the only way to go? Be interested to know! Thanks

  5. Hi is a table top a table set up for you? Or can you bring your car and your own table? Would that option be ?15?
  6. I have lived on the Sydenham / Penge border for about 8 years now and love it. There is a real sense of community around here. Plenty for people with young families in the form of playgroups and classes, access to loads of greenspaces and also leisure centres etc. Penge high street is a bit shabby but it has everything you need for the day to day and more. Alexandra nurseries is a great community hub and there are also events in Alexandra and Cator Park like a carol singing /concert at Christmas and Music in the Park in the summer where you can take along a picnic, chill out and listen to music - one year there was a jazz band, another a brass band and community choir etc if you are moving "like" the Friends of Alexandra and Cator Parks page and you can keep up to date with local events too!
  7. I found these great magazine books in a charity shop recently which are, story, comic and interesting facts books with really diverse stories which my daughter really likes. see here - http://www.bayard-magazines.co.uk/gammebox/read_Adventurebox//they are a bit pricy new but I'm sure you get some on ebay etc
  8. Closer to home - How about a lovely picnic in Crystal Palace Park - there are the dinosaurs, a park, the maze - a lovely afternoon out! There are usually a couple of bouncy castle there in summer too! that and an ice cream would be a nice closer to home thing to do! Also depending on when they are coming you should look up the Lambeth County Fair in Brockwell Park - lots of fun there for a day!
  9. HI I've been looking at flights to Puglia, Italy but don't really know that much about the area. Anyone been and have some recommendations? We have two children aged 3 and 6 - are there any good waterparks? What are the beaches like etc? Any info would be great! Thanks!
  10. Hi I went on Tuesday - its free for under 16s and your adult ticket (?13) will get you in for a whole year! My two loved it and already are asking when we can go back! Useful to know that they have a picnic area where you can sit and eat your own sarnies! Have fun!
  11. That does look lovely Shrimp- I work near there though - not sure I want to go near work on a day off!! Are there any more local places?
  12. I find myself with a very rare opportunity to have a day to myself on Monday - I fancy a relaxing spa I think - any recommendations?
  13. My second daughter was a bit resistant to potty training - she didn't actually want to sit on the potty at all so we went straight to toilet I think some children just want to copy you exactly and the potty doesn't seem to work, maybe this is an issue? This combined with a bribe of two smarties everytime she went worked a treat!
  14. My eldest daughter attended and loved her time there - the teachers are really caring, everything is well organised and the parents evening mean you get to find out what your child is getting up to! It really suited my child and she left with great skills ready for primary school. The fact that it's actually in the park away from any busy roads was a big plus for me as well - They used to go on little nature walks in the park! My youngest is due to start in September - i would really recommend it.
  15. I went this week and the museum staff asked us to please fill in their survery - see https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/XK37JPP It would be such a shame if they stopped this session......
  16. Hi there Sorry for the delay! I am really interested! Can I ask a few more questions? is there aircon in the house? Howe far is it away from the beach? Do you have a vacancy in the last two weeks of August - we are looking for staying for 10 nights - how much would that be? Many thanks!
