  1. Ugh. This is awful and brings back rubbish memories, really hope she's ok. Is it too much to ask to feel safe in your own neighbourhood? Feels that way :(
  2. Poor thing :( Can I just say though how thoughtful everyone has been. I have a little black cat (Nino) in exactly the same area. It's reassuring to know that people keep an eye out for the naughty little scamps. Well done Oggieoggieoggie
  3. I'm really sorry to hear this. I was attacked by girls of a similar age/description (not that there is a great deal of this) in October around the Grove Vale/Oglander area (at 8pm after a 176 journey). Police were also really helpful. I'm not trying to play Inspector Morse but i'd love to catch them. I guess it's unlikely that they are the same girls but i'd be happy to compare notes... Feel free to PM me
  4. Description: 3 girls, 1 black chubby girl who initiated the confrontation, two thin mixed race, one carrying a metal bar. All aged approx 15/16 and wearing black with their hair tied back. I walked pass them on Grove Vale where they were hanging around next door to the Chinese. They followed me and confronted me on Oglander. Crime Ref is 303 4920/07 (Thurs 11 October at 7:50pm).
  5. I know it's dangerous to make comparisons but this sounds similar to my experience the day before. I guess it's in the hands of the Police. I'm glad your daughter is ok though. Good it's so depressing.
  6. God, can I have their numbers. Perhaps they've moved!? I too have a fine set of vocal chords but am beginning to think the key ring chain saw is the only way forward. Sigh.
  7. I was screaming for help. People are frightened to intervene, i absolutely understand that however just a call to the police, a front door opening or a shout from a window would have diffused the situation. It's possible that nobody heard me but being such a quiet road I would think that was unlikely. I think it's important to remember that if five people call the police they will not send five cars, they will send one. Never assume that someone else will make that call.
  8. The case was surrounding Kitty Genovene and yes, diffusion of responsibility is the term used to describe bystander behaviour. They asked for a pound and then my bag but the focus was really on the violence, I managed to keep hold of everything some how.
  9. Thank you, that's really kind. Can I just add for those who are thinking about moving to the area, ED is actually a lovely area and the Police made a point of telling me what a rare occurence this was.
  10. I'm so glad you've reacted well, i didn't want to scare monger. Three, all under 16, one black two asian. Started near the end of Og, ED side and continued all the way up. I'm fine now, just bruises and damaged pride.
  11. I've never done this before but I just wanted to write a quick note. I am a 27 year old women and was attacked on Oglander Road early one evening last week by three young girls carrying a weapon. The matter is now with the police but I just wanted to highlight the fact that despite my cries for help, no one called the police or intervened. I know it's scary but we really do need to stick together if we want to maintain ED as an area with a strong community spirit.
