I used to use a women in North London (when i lived there) - what i loved was that she picked up and brought back my ironing. It was always beautifully presented (i did give her hangers for the ironing). She always turned it around in the same day (not that that was necessary, but useful). She was cheaper than using a laundromat.

I am quite new in nunhead, but if I come across any I can ask - not sure but perhaps the nunhead library might be able to help you with local venues, they have qutie a few pamplets etc around - ivydale school has a surestart centre attached next to it, very friendly people who run it - they might be able to offer you a venue or suggest one .... hope that helps!

You could fly to one of the near by bigger islands (and then get a boat across) or else its the ferry from athens.

Family coming to London : what to do
hazelnunhead replied to bouhbouh's topic in The Family Room Discussion
The boat from Greenwich to the Tate Modern is great, and you can also go to the other Tate by boat. Loads to do in Greenwich as well. When my Mum came for her first visit, we did a big walkaround from Tate Modern, to St Pauls, to Westminster Cathedral, Buckingham Palace etc. (She wanted to see the major sites which are quite accesible on foot) You can also hop on and off that tourist bus which is quite useful for getting around London. The views from Oxo Tower (southbank) are great. Regents park beautiful (as Hyde park) If you go on Timeout website they have great ideas and listings of all the museums; entry times; cost etc which can be quie useful when planning. -
I had a cyclist try to warn me he was behind me, i ended up almost turning into him in my confusion over where the voice was coming from! I have probably scarred him from doing this again as I danced and weaved in front of him!

If you are prepared to travel Coram Fields (Kings Park) is amazing - went to a party there which was great - loads for children to do, you get a room with a small kitchen (for about ?70 to hire) ... my daugther loved it as there was so much to do and play on -
I think so! Can't believe this day has come!

The grant covers school terms, so it is not for the entire year> That might add to the discrepancy in costs (so christmas holidays, easter and summer break is not covered)
