Thanks to Kuba for coming to do some pre-house sale decorating. Great service at short notice - hugely appreciated as always. I can definitely recommend the team.

Roofer & guttering repair recommendation
niksterboots replied to Pickle's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Another recommendation for David and Patrick - David came quickly to quote, quoted a reasonable price and they were able to complete the work within a couple of days. Both v nice and polite too. This is the second time I've used them - first time to fix a flat roof above a bay window (about a year ago - no leaks or damp since) and this time to sort out some pointing and cement work around a window. Will definitely use again! -
Any advice for child with travel sickness please?
niksterboots replied to PohSuan's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My daughter also suffers. We take travel sickness tablets - I use Dramamine from the states which I get on amazon which is suitable from 2 years, but will move on to Kwells Junior once she's 4. It does make her drowsy though - great for long journeys and driving at night etc, but not so good when you're doing shorter journeys and don't want them to be grumpy and woozy for an outing! I am hoping Kwells will be less drowsy (if anyone has any experience of Kwells, please do let me know!). The other thing we've found helpful for short journeys where we don't want to give her tablets, is constant snacking. I take a huge stash of apples chunks, breadsticks, rice cakes, ginger biscuits, lollypops, plain crisps etc. and she'll wear the bands if we remember to put them on. No idea if they work though as I've never tried them in isolation! -
Hi - I'm contemplating a trip to Wonderland this morning with a 5 year old and a 3 year old. Has anyone been? Would you recommend it for this age or am I mad?!

Have pm'd you. -
My washing machine broke yesterday so rang this guy on the back of this post and he came out at 7pm on a Sunday to fix it. Very polite and helpful, and washing machine was repaired quickly with no fuss.

Sunray Gardens - time for a spruce up?
niksterboots replied to Afternoontea71's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
On a similar subject, I also think that the playground area in Sunray is well overdue an upgrade. The climbing frames/slides are pretty outdated, and one of them in particular is pretty dangerous. Any idea how to go about getting that looked into? -
peace and harmony - any chance?
niksterboots replied to SE22mum's topic in The Family Room Discussion
There's a book called "Siblings without rivalry" - I've not read it myself but I've heard it's very good. Might be worth looking at? -
Hi there, I am looking for a curtain maker to finish off some curtains that my mother has started! She's started making them without lining but I do need them black out lined as they are to go in a baby's room. I think it's just a case of putting some lining in them, and measuring to get the length right and finishing off the top so that they fit on a rail that the carpenter has put up. Ideally looking for someone to be able to finish them off as soon as possible. Please pm me if you are interested and you have time soon. Thanks, Nikki
